Glad it went well, LIR....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

This is so good to hear. At some point I am going to have to succumb and I have a deep fear of the embarrassment of it all.
Whilst it might feel embarrassing, you can be certain that the clinical staff will have no embarrassment whatsoever. They will have seen most things before, and will again.
Pleased to hear it went so well lir0 -
Oh well
Great day, ending badly.
Resident parent said they would cook, and declined my offer to leave something they could re heat for me tonight. We discussed, and discussed and discussed this, with lists of what I could and couldn't eat. (I make for them stuff I cannot eat all of, so I don't expect it to be noticed). i even found a few things that looked noce, were super easy to cook and discussed them and emailed the recipes, i thought we were all set.
I could not eat what was offered at lunch time. Any of it.. It's not a matter of taste ( if it were i would grit my teeth and eat politely ) but a matter of what's on the medical do not eat right now list. It wasn't really an issue at lunch time. Tonight I was told we are having fish and chips. I just cannot have that.
I'm not actually that hungry so have grabbed the apple I have been wanting so badly and grapes but I cannot help but feel disappointed. Sigh. Oh we'll, more fool me. I know better than that.0 -
Just spoken to my Mama, who is stressed and cross. She went to London today to have the first PET scan since the end of her chemotherapy, so fasted, got the stuff injected into her, and then the machine broke, so she sat around all day, didn't have anything to eat, and didn't have the scan at all, and then went home (60-odd miles).
So she's really fed up....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Poor her.
Why so far for the scan? Is it the nearest offered or the best choice offered?0 -

Because it's where she had the chemotherapy, and under the same consultant. Cromwell Hospital, in central-west London, and during the treatment, my parents sold their London house and are now living in their Kent place, which is 60 miles away.
She's anxious to know whether she's still clear or not....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

In a microbiology lab somewhere there is a lake of wee with my name on:o. I am prone UTIs. When my blood glucose levels are high I get them recurrently/frequently. Last year I lost count, probably 20+episodes including one in November that saw me admitted overnight for IV antibugs.
Ridiculously debilitating and can render me a crumpled wreck.0 -

She's anxious to know whether she's still clear or not.Sorry to hear about that. Your poor mama. Not just because of the preparation/ travel, but she must have been really building herself up for a result.
After her first date was pulled with a few days notice, my mum went into hospital nicely fasted on Friday. Her op was supposed to be scheduled for 15:30. At 14:30 they told her they wouldn't be able to do it because of a problem in the theatre. It was bad enough having to put up with the pain for longer, but she also had to go back into work the next day and have everyone asking why she was there/ unarrange all the cover for her shifts etc0 -

I hope they're not still hoarding it, Spirit!
During the 6 months I worked in a hopsital lab, that was one of the least favoured jobs - disposing of the wee :eek:0 -

Oh lir. Should you not have something more substantial? I know its not the same as having it made for you, but can you not make a little something up yourself?0
