. I had a Popeyes fixation as a kid I think.
I was reading something about Popeye and spinach the other day. I think it said something along the lines of spinach isn't actually all that full of iron, it just got the reputation from Popeye.
Still yummy though.0 -
That sounds nice - I usually do it with garlic and chilli, but cheese sounds like a great addition
I like either lemon and garlic on fresh spinach but it never works as well on frozen, best of all on either a splash of cream and a heavy grating of nutmeg, Its a classic for a reason. If no cream in cream cheese makes a passable substitute.0 -

I have a picture of you with one of those rubber gloves that goes over your elbow (like vets wear) delving into the freezer0 -
I think LIR's had enough rummaging around in bowels for one day, though....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

A nutritionist I saw when I first got ill said ' all these spinach salads you are eating, is this for your anaemia? For gods sake, just get over the fact you are not meant to be a vegetarian. Eat meat a little less rarely and take your feragrad c., this will never work' she was right of course, but I also just love spinach. It's so flexible. Salad, soup, veg.....it never disappoints.
Mmmm, I also really fancy water cress.0 -

I buy fresh spinach when its on offer, but its so handy to have the frozen stuff. I don't often buy cream.
Having said that, the moment I have 2 sorts: Vanilla flavoured and strawberry and champagne flavoured.
I've only tried the vanilla one so far, it's lovely with strawberries.0 -

We're going to have to start having some odd meals again. Roast pork and roast duck are certainly both going to be on the menu as soon as I get into the freezer. I want to buy a half mangolitza pig in autumn, so have to use the floating bits we have left up first. And the dogs are going to be happy. I know there is some of the good tripe we cannot get ATM in there.0 -
