    Indeed.

    Tonight for dinner chez Nikkster:
Pork belly slices roasted with the last bit of garlic I had in the cupboard (really really needed using up), a bit of finely diced shallot and a generous splash of dried herbs, served with some sundried tomato and garlic couscous (courtesy of Ainsley Harriot putting it in a packet) with added courgette and sweetcorn. (edit - and the last of a packet of frozen sliced peppers)
Not bad, which is a good job as there is another portion for later in the week :)

    Meat .... posh alert :P

I don't mind roast pork, so long as there's no fat or hairy skin near it .... but I've not had pork for years as it's fatty and hairy.

My dish looked the right size to start with, now it's overcrowded .... but the next size up would have needed more tomatoes, more peas and the rest of the stuffing :)

I make really, really nice vodka jelly. It always gets an 'ooh' and and 'aaah' because it looks quite impressive.

I usually make it around Christmas /new year because its nice and clean when everything else is heavy but its impressive enough to hold its own.

But those are a very, very cute summer thing, every bit as tempting in a much cuter way.
First time I visited the US (1988) my mate lived in a city that had quite a cool culture.

Every day I saw something I wondered why we didn't have in theUK. The bars all sold jello-shots which were basically jellified cocktails that didn't irritate the throat as you gulped them.

Another idea that semed like pure genius was laundromats that had cocktail bars, seeing as how single people were the main customers.

I used to love Jell-O shots. ( in uk) Are they here generationally, geographically or socioeconomically? I don't know.

Now there is an idea that makes the thought of going to a laundrette almost appealing

    That's the best bit.

You gt one of those lemons, and make yourself a lovely drink and sip it while listening to some nice music, maybe having a little jig about.

Din din's eaten. Couple of minor lessons learnt for next time: cook less, little more oil, make meatballs smaller..... but it was uber-yummy.

HUGE bowl of stuffing balls, tiomatoes, peas and lashings of mash...... total cost about 50p
