Both my parents offered to take me to hospital for my date this week.

I am thrilled to say I have managed to get a friend to take me. :). The parent who lives with me is doing their absolute best (and very sweetest) making green jelly because I mentioned I'd be able to eat that. I officially relinquished control of my kitchen today. I meant one jelly. There are, DH tells me, now four in the fridge, and parent is still going.

The one who doesn't live with me is visiting me the day after wards. Was meant to take me, we'll, offered, but then double booked themselves, and i think things have turned out for the best :).

That way every one feels happy that they have all done someone and been kind and done of us get pushed beyond comfort levels.

Sadly jelly freezes funky, and I will not eat jelly after its been made for too long (images of agar agar plates come to mind) so we're going to have a lot of green jelly to get rid of next week. ;)

Bacteria can grow on it easily, but we can't. It's the worst protein nutritionally, got a Biological Value of zero, totally different from all other animal proteins which are way high Value. Love it though.

Could murder a trifle any day any time.:)

Blackpool? Weren't they meant to be competing to build a supercasino which Manchester then won and never built? Whatever happened to that?

Doesn't it depend what type of jelly? Mint and apple jelly would be green, but although quite high in sugar it also has vitamin C.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

I had to teach this recently.
You can rate protein foods on a Biolgical Value scale of 0 to 10, according to how good a mix of the supposedly ten (but actually eight) essential amino acids they have.
Gelatine's zero, most plant foods are Low Biological Value (less than5.0) and most animal proteins are High Biological Value (5.0 and above). You can't sustain life on food that's got less than 5.0 unless you mix and match LBV foods in a specific way, or take supplements. Vitamins and minerals may be present but that's another matter.

Youi probably can't live on one food indefinitely but apparently the two foods that combine to keep you alive the longest would be milk and potatoes. Both have HBV protein (potatoes and soya beans are the only HBV plants) plus a wide range of vitamins and minerals. It's one of the reasons the Irish potato famine was so devastating- the farmers were having to live on the crop as well as selling it, because you could.

Mint and apple jelly - in fact, any type of jelly that is like jam without the fruit - has no gelatine in at all. The texture comes from the pectin in the fruit.

OK it's a carbohydrate then, no protein. Not sure how nourishing it is, probably not at all.

Won't grow bacteria then but may eventually get mouldy due to fungi (but heck of a slowly if it does).

Mint and apple jelly sounds interesting. Had a mint paratha with my nepal kalio at my birthday dinner. Nice to try but now I've ticked that box I may not bother again. I like sourdough bread but minty bread's just a bit weird for me.;)

Wrong sort of jelly. I mean jello as opposed to fruit cheese/ membrillo or its lighter preserve cousin. For what it's worth I love the preserve jelly much better than jam. But like my jam I prefer a too soft set.

Miss kool's jelly is still the stuff of legends. When I make it we still call it misskooljelly.

Sugar is a vegetable so apple jelly is effectively fruit with vegetables.

I think I would lose weight after the first few days if jelly was the only option.

My phone is now a brick despite (because of) 5 wasted hours yesterday :-(

Still at least it is Sunday which means the other Michaelss at church and I get a lie in, the 100 item to do list can wait.
    I think....
