TBH lir, I think that's the main motivation for getting the gardener in, look away michaels, there's definitley more output than I've accounted for, that and they can hide in the long grass when they don't want to come in.
Between a Merc and a Skoda, I'd not be fussed either way. I'm not a Merc fan and the Skoda that I travelled in once, seemed fine to me. I think I saw CK say something about having Sprinters, but I don't even like them. Too expensive when they go wrong, equally reliable vans these days from other makers and by the time we are finished with them, the residuals are so low anyway, the merc badge really doesn't make any difference.0 -

On another note this morning. I'm calling myself sensible, OH is calling me stupid. I'm thinking about ordering a Skoda Superb (the September one). £27k gets you more than a Mercedes S-Class (including more rear leg room), with just about every electronic gadget you'll ever need (the spec's better than my current car). Which of us do you agree with?

Back in the 80s I wanted to tour Europe by getting a train from Athens to London and stopping to visit places on the way. The cheapest way to get to Athens turned out to be by Czechoslovakian Airways. Changed planes in Prague, and as I'd only ever read about Eastern Europe and never been there I was sruitinising the city and airport from the air. I did see a car park full of what looked like only Skodas!
I was surprised how affluent it all looked. But much more impressed by the security. Tanks and armoured cars around the airport perimeter, serious looking fences , every second passenger got taken away and searched (dodged that bullet) just as a routine. In fact I noticed that all the westerners on the plane were in different seating rows from the easterners so they coudn't just get into idel conversations.
I was thinking how low the chances were that there would be any trouble on the flight (aircraft were a terror target at the time) and it suddenly dawned on me that this was the country that made semtex so there wasn't likely to be any risk of getting blown up at all!;)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Just spoken to the GP. He recommended that everyone in the family takes a 25 microgramme vitamin D tablet every day during the winter months, as most people in the UK are short of vitamin D.
I told him that we already take a multivitamin with twice the RDA, so we are already getting 10 microgrammes, and he recommended topping it up to 25, ie 5 times the RDA. He says the RDA is 'really low'.
Any NP have any thoughts on this, please? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I think I mentiioned before that our GP is always banging on about this (DH and the DKs have darker skin so are more at risk of too low levels, I have very fair skin and hide from the sun as much as possible so also at risk). I notice Kelloggs have recently started adding Vit D to their fortified cereals which they never used to.
We got some 2000 micro unit pills (don't know how many micro grammes this equals) and both DW and I found they gave us intestinal cramps. I take 1 a week now as a 'compromise' and DW just takes a multivit which I think has the RDA. We haven't got round to doing anything for the DKsI think....0 -
It could easily be the formulation that's giving you the cramps, rather than the vitamin D itself. DW got some 25 microgrammes tablets from Boots. That's 1000 iu's. (I guess that's what you mean by micro units?) I've just taken one, so I'll let you know if I have cramps. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Darn, outed on the NP forum - I was hoping my claimed McKinsey score of zero would fool you all but it wasn't to be.
Or maybe the Freudian slip merely confirms who wears the trousers chez michaels?
Edit: Does no one else use the term Darlin' Ho' to describe their other half?I think....0
