Re the deodorant there's an old joke about wanting it for my underarms, not for ball or aerosol. I wouldn't tell it among Nice People though.
I was tempted to do that. Old Benny Hill sketch, I can still remember it. *spoken in German/Norwegian style european accent*
    "I'd like some deodorant"
"Ball or aerosol?" (aerosol pronounced are-sol)
"No, I'd like it for my armpits"

Thank you, and to whoever else said the same :)
    In the UK? or Georgia?

Neither. There's a Greek Orthodox church at the top of Potemkin Steps in Odessa, Ukraine, that's usually booked out years in advance. We've managed to get a date next August. This photo was taken 15-20 years ago, before we were together, and I remember hearing her mention to someone (in the church) that she'd like to marry there someday :)

This was at Artek (one of our pastimes, and also my DD's), and was one of the Soviet camps for 50-60000 children each year.

Recent talent seems to be naming your child something that will hit the headlines.

It's not talent, it's utter stupidity IMO. If she's that 'proud' of her roots, which she says she is, it would have been an Armenian name.

I've got Armenian friends in Cali, and noone there can stand her :)

Oh dear. Is that covered by normal house and contents?

    It should be.

For LiR - I can't underline strongly enough that we are continuing our investigation into the alleged attempt to rig the results in Lithuania through power-voting.

Any reports suggesting we have dropped this investigation are incorrect, and having cleared several countries, the EBU, NTU and NRK (two TV companies cleared of any involvement) are carrying out a full and proper investigation into this, with Swiss police (yes, there may be criminal charges), and our findings will be reported when concluded.

Because I've been absent.... so the joy's gone from people's lives ... I suspect they are half way down their 3rd bottle of wine.... the lushes.

That would surely be a posh alert?

I've baked 2 cakes tonight for tomorrow, and haven't actually had anything to drink tonight (well, other than a bottle of coke)

DD's are in bed, and I'm waiting for OH to get home (about an hour)

    Ooo, that's really romantic CK!

I wander onto a couple of other forums and they are both quiet as well; I find that often happens in the summer months.

Flowers are looking good lir, send some this way would you. I detest gardening with a passion ( sorry jelly ) and would happily live in a flat, sorry, apartment, if it weren't for the mutts. I'm currently cultivating a wildflower meadow, with no wild flowers, just tall grass and an interesting selection of weeds.

I presume you mean, "I can't be bothered to cut the grass....."
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Yes. But I have bothered to ring the gardener two weeks ago, but he hasn't come round yet.:o

I really cannot stress enough how much I dislike all things garden related, though I can admire a nice one!
