That should win some kind of award - not sure if it's for retrieval, digging or macabre humour? But an award definitely!

Yay! Have a wonderful time. When are you going to organise a meet up for us England-but-not-London pixels?

Well, it was an interesting & wet day, but the sunshine was in the company!
FWIW, the one person I chatted with the most was a person who I've felt that I've clashed with a lot on the forum, which was a pleasant surprise.

We had a nice friendly chat in the bar after too, whilst drying out. Tentative plans were discussed for another game in the summer, when it is not raining!

In response to the question, when're you free?;) Seriously, those who are close enough I'd be happy to meet if available, for a day, afternoon or similar. Though if I try to organise a meeting for yourself, Nikkster and a gang of other females you might all think I've an ulterior motive!:o

Went to visit dovedale & the stepping stones on Sunday. What a lovely place. Was amazed at the complete lack of any litter at all, despite virtually no bins being there.
Lovely weather, and as a result I would definitely like to go again. Perhaps another day in the summer I'll go with a bigger picnic!:D

...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Where is 'close enough'? I am not the best informed on NP locations.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Should probably say, after all the false starts, old girl did go this morning. It was incredibly quick, quickest I have seen, and she was happily munching an apple as she went.

All very good IMO. Very content with how it played out. More convinced than ever... Send me to Switzerland at the end, feed me prunes drowned in alcohol and finish me off while I am still happy. :)

I assume pretty much everyone is/was waaaaaaay south of myself.

I think Nikkster is/was quite close to where I am (but has moved & I've no idea where to?). I think doozer (anyone seen/heard from her, not seen her in a while) & JohnnyBravo were also pretty close to me, but they appear to have been lost in the mists of time (much like wheezy?)

In answer to the question, close enough is accessible for a day trip without excessive £ cost or time cost.

    That's a bit too vague isn't it...:o

The hot spell has benefitted my tomatoes. I was concerned at the veritable lack of progress they were making, however the heat saturday/sunday/monday has made a fair few pop out!

I really need to repot all the carrots I have.

Got away with a quick mow of the lawns monday before the heavens opened. managed to push all the trimmings into the composters (just). However I have a big tub of weeds I don't know what to do with, as I can't fit them in the composter yet. and in addition, I still have a mammoth weeding task to complete.

My onions seem fine at the mo. When is the right time to fold the leaf things in half to encourage the bulbs to grow?

Still no sign of life from the ginger sadly...

On a different forum, I 'speak' with a lady that is a Labour councillor, not really my natural territory, but it's surprising when we meet in the real world how well we get on and how much we have in common on a number of subjects.

It must be something about forums, that no matter how able you are to express yourself, there is too much lost by not knowing the other person well and by not being able to see them.

Lemon, you are about 90 miles south of me, which makes you almost a Southerner to me!

@lir, that sounds peaceful and she went before she lost too much quality of life.
