I'm such a sucker for punishment. Saw a job advertised and thought it sounded ideal so i'm applying for it. But only 50/50 wanting to leave :o (although technically, I am only employed for 7 more months)

Ooh exciting. Can you say what without giving away too much?

Is it likely you could stay where you are if you wanted to?

Just checking those lists of what anniversary gift you are meant to give and I think this year dh and I are on bronze/salt. We're not together on the day so I cannot simply salt his food heavily, but a bar of salted caramel chocolate might do.

I think those things are a bit bland tbh. We like to nod at them but really we don't give big gifts anyway and we'd rather do something more personal usually. I might not say the same on the jewellery ones. ;)

Old girl definitely booked in for tomorrow. So certain that this is the time I have booked the hunt to come and collect her little body.

I think we have the timing just right. She is still comfortable and getting great joy out of meals, but some changes have occurred that make me feel that while she shows no pain response now she would within a few days. We have a sudden rush of foot growth ....not unusual in spring, but I fear this is more likely to be something more sinister and would be very painful if it happened.

Very content we have now got the timing right. Thank good ness.
....and give her a 'bye' from us too.
Good luck with the new job Miss K. ...and the surgery thingy too.

I don't think I have ever been asked for a passport or any ID when sat in A+E or in hospital.

I do know of an illegal about 12 years ago who had a hernia op and no questions asked at all. He came here via Ireland on a forged Italian passport. Was from Brazil.

We CBA with our silver one in Feb 2012 as we were saving every penny..and this year we didn't bother with the 26th as we were buying the retreat house and saving every penny.
I wonder what 27th is? If it's something nice maybe we'll have a 'do' down Margate :) It may be a theme that could link to home furnishings ..that would be handy.

Google tells me it is sculpture ('modern version', there isn't a traditional gift)

This September we are celebrating our Pearl anniversary:j:j:j. NDG has offered to give me advice so I am more informed on what to buy, as my husband would like 'us' to have new string, (and I haven't the heart to disappoint him);). I would like to look and possibly buy in Dubai next week but am worried about getting 'ripped off'.

Hmm - Decided we were all healthy enough to visit D Sis 1 today. Got on the M25 at J22 to be told it was solid from J21 to J15 then when we finally got to J15 it said severe delays J13-J12 - yes it was raining cats and dogs but this was 11-1 on a school holiday weekday.

Then came back up the M3 meeting the M25 about 7.30 and our choices were clockwise - delays J10 to J16 or anti-clockwise delays J10 to J5. IN the end we decided on the scenic route through London, waved in the general direction of Zag and GDB at appropriate moments but it does just take ages that way :(
    I think....

Fantastic :) I can link a 'sculpture' theme to all sorts of useful gifts.
OK, will start planning it now, get a date booked (so all the various family members can put it in their diaries 9 months ahead).

Off to watch Apprentice now on record.....anyone seen it yet?
