I make a sandwich mixture which we like. It's tuna, mayo, spring onions and a splash of Worcester sauce. Alternatively I use gherkins with it.0 -

Museums and art galleries are often free, bit the good ones are all in that London. Personally I quite like walking in the rain anyway as there aren't many other people about and other people often spoil a good walk. It's not that good if your boots aren't waterproof I admit.0 -

There isn't a tuna recipe in the world which can't be made better by replacing the tuna with bacon in my view. (Or salmon if raw).0 -
I think fish is really expensive, particularly tuna.
Tuna steak is horrifically priced in the supermarket. You can usually get salmon steaks for about 1/3 of the price. Sainsbury's do ok salmon 2 small steaks prepacked - £3 or something. Quality isn't amazing but it will do. The same amount of tuna costs a tenner.0 -

Probably true, but bacon isn't very healthy.
Edit: I don't think I'd ever buy tuna steak, it costs more than real steak and is as tough as old boots“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Indeed. Please don't think I was hurt or upset by the original comment. I feel like Nikkster said - it's encouraging to hear there are good marriages out there, because maybe one day we might get into ones like that ourselves.PasturesNew wrote: »A piece of sea glass.
Light dawns. I didn't see that avatar, so I read the discussion about it as referring to your current avatar, which didn't seem to me to be green or to look remotely like a piece of sea glass, so I was puzzled. :rotfl:lostinrates wrote: »I make a sandwich mixture which we like. Tuna (with or without mayo, but definitely without spring onions, Worcester sauce, pepper or any of the other things various NP have suggested adding to it) is a form of protein that DS will cheerfully eat. This makes it a Good Thing IMO.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I don't eat fish or meat being a vegetarian, however there is one thing I did used to really like that could turn me: Arbroath smokies. Now that has to be the most delish fish in the world. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Its funny. I am not that keen on raw spring onions generally, but they work really well in sandwich mixtures like that. Steamed chicken works instead of tuna.
It's good your ds likes tuna.0 -
I eat a lot of tinned tuna... for some reason I don't eat own brand tuna but john west (?) Which is pretty expensive I think.
Aha, that is because it is one of those 'discount priced' items - ie it is regularly on half price because the 'standard' price has been increased to twice what it should be so the packs of 4 tins are £6.99 and then 1 week out of every 4 when they actually sell any they are £3.49 'half price'.
Personally I am also in the can't stand tuna and can't even stand the smell of it if other people are eating it - still it is a sure way for DW to keep herself safe from any amorous advances....I think....0 -

The other day I tried cooking with Quinn mince to see if its any better than I remembered. It really isn't. It was pretty grim in fact. I was vegetarian for a while as a teen and didn't really miss meat, but by heck quorn is grim.
When I taste quorn I wonder if its what mushrooms taste like to some people. There is definite old mouldy mushroom aroma in the mouth, and such an odd texture.
Edit Um. That should have been quorn.0
