I had salmon en croute last night. It's nice :)

    Boring salad tonight... sigh.

I was thinking salmon tomorrow....it's a bit of a Friday night cop out though. Fridays are hard because I never know when he'll be home. Often I have to feed parent earlier, so keeping it simple is key. Salmon or other pan fried fish is way and quick. I actually fancy something else...maybe a nice lemon sole or something, but is anyone else finding fish is really expensive ATM? (This is the worst spending month I have had all year, everything has hit hard, and I have to allow for old girl's imminent removal still to come. ) And I am not terribly imaginative with fish either.....something I really need to improve upon. If shellfish weren't still a no go area it's good weather for scallops and black pudding.

I cannot eat salad as a main meal if its cold. I struggle with salad often anyway (slow digester:o) and when its cold its both unappetising and not comfortable.

I might make a lasagne for one evening, I can make it in advance tomorrow, its not something we have a lot but it will work if the weather thaws out a little but if it stays so cold it is good too.

Harrumph. I want gazpacho, and grilled veg and meat, and main meal salads and things like that but its just too cold.

I think fish is really expensive, particularly tuna.

Yeah, it is. Actually, all healthy food seems expensive at the moment...

Cheapest tuna's 80p for a 185g can in Mr S and 49p for a 185g can in Mr A. Quite a big difference. I've got two tins in the cupboard.... might be having tuna/egg/mayo pitta breads for three days next week.

I thought silvercar was referring to fresh tuna.

I eat a lot of tinned tuna... for some reason I don't eat own brand tuna but john west (?) Which is pretty expensive I think.

I just dislike tuna in general, it's rancid. Even raw it's not up to much and cooked it reminds me of flaked cardboard. The tinned stuff is ok if you add so much mayonnaise and pepper that you can only taste the mayonnaise and pepper.
