We have decided that tomorrow we will get the kettle from the feed room and the kettle from the kitchen and have a bath, so I have hope that tomorrow will be happy.0 -
It's weird, isn't it PN, how your Mum being ill makes you feel about 5 years old, and wanting to burst into tears and wail, "Muuuuummmmmy!!" Well, it did me, anyway.
Sadly, Lydia, we came second in the trial. I was acting for the First Defendant, and all 3 were potted. They got nearly a decade inside, too....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Wha?! You still haven't bought anything new yet? I am sure you started it in early 2010?CKhalvashi wrote: »Just reading about the Cypriot banking issues.
The banks in Cyprus are re-opened, but with temporary restrictions on both cash and foreign transfers, to be reviewed after a week.

Had a message from our Cypriot customer yesterday. They have iced all deliveries until the banks re-open...which was yesterday afternoon

Welcome back NDG. Sorry to hear about your mum but I'm glad she's on the mend.
A quick catch up: I've got a new job which I'm loving having been bullied out of my old one. The weather has been great although it got a bit too hot in the middle of summer, it was 46C!!!
It's my son's birthday today so we're off to Paramatta soon to buy him a train set.0 -
Going on topic it is things like having the space to set up train sets that reminds how ridiculously over crowded the UK is and that living in the smallest houses in the world really does reduce living standards however much they are 'worth'.
I know the economy probably couldn't cope with house prices adjusting to the price of farm land plus build costs but I think as a country the benefits of sensible house prices would far outweigh the lost of 'countryside' if planning restrictions were relaxed.I think....0 -

Agree with the second point. On the first, when I was a kid, my dad bought me a train set for my birthday. Not sure why really as I never showed any inclination towards them. He boarded the loft, built a huge train set (from my child memory, in reality probably smaller) and I never got to play with it. However I can say from experience that train sets work well in lofts. He seemed to spend plenty of time up there anyway.
Gen, why Paramatta? Is there a specialist there? For whatever reason I thought you were coastal and it seems a long way to go for a trainset. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I did read that the Imperial Palace in Tokyo once had a higher land value than the whole of California. Completely useless form of money though! Inflated real estate prices. Pah!
