So I went out to the garden and it started hailing. If this wasn't so tragically funny I would be v annoyed.

We had heavy snow today....James got a phone call to say work was off, then the sun came out.....phone call to James "How quickly can you get down here?"

So what started as a later start for him (11.30), went to no work at all and then get down here (9.30!) as the boss had also called up the others due into work earlier than James and told them not to bother coming in, so they rearranged their day.

Not that James minds so much, it's all extra pennies to put in his uni fund.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Cleaned out the garage and discovered a wad of notes - unfortunately from the bank of cyprus. I got excited when someone found decent prices for them on Ebay, then realised they were for uncirculated pristine notes, not scrunched-up-in -a-garage-from-previous-owners-holidays condition. (Before anyone with high morals asks, the previous owners caused us some agro on stuff they should have dealt with, so I don't feel any obligation to return to owner).

Weird when both your children have the same sense of humour that neither parent quite gets.

Both of them are glued to "Grandma's house", quoting bits of script back to each other. I find it quite amusing but not hysterical. Improved by DS2 "explaining" things that do make it funnier; but then the humour shouldn't need explaining. Must be a generational thing. Is Simon Amstell really that funny?

Agree with the second point. On the first, when I was a kid, my dad bought me a train set for my birthday. Not sure why really as I never showed any inclination towards them. He boarded the loft, built a huge train set (from my child memory, in reality probably smaller) and I never got to play with it. However I can say from experience that train sets work well in lofts. He seemed to spend plenty of time up there anyway.

Gen, why Paramatta? Is there a specialist there? For whatever reason I thought you were coastal and it seems a long way to go for a trainset.

We're North Shore (Woolwich, Hunters Hill, Gladesville, Ryde) i.e. cross ANZAC Bridge and turn right.

The in-laws are near Parramatta so the kids know the shopping mall there and more importantly the contents of the shops. In the same time we could have gone to Chatswood which is a much nicer place with more choice but then it's not my birthday so why would I choose where to go?

For Londoners it's a bit like going to Croydon rather than Bluewater.

My son doesn't like train sets. He loves, loves, loves them. Even then I think I understate his interest.

His ideal career would be that he had a science lab on a train so he can do science, engineering and train driving at the same time.

I remember watching Casey Jones on our old black and white telly when I was growing up. Always watched that, loved it.

Once you've found out that they are indeed work absolutely nothing, perhaps you should return them to the owner. Then they can spend several years grinding their teeth with anger at the thought they forgot them and that you didn't find them until they were worthless. Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Not that I serve revenge of course, because I'm really a nice person:o:p:o:p:eek::rotfl:

I was going to suggest we play the ACORN postcode game on upmystreet.com, but now it's been bought by cr*ppy Zoopla I can't find that feature anymore:(, it's probably behind their pro section.
