I smoked during my undergrad days, gave up when I left that city the year after graduating. Still fancy one sometimes, but have tried a couple in the last decade and didn't enjoy it.

    I definitely drink.
Smoked until I was a postgrad and quit halfway through that. Still drink. Drive about 5000 miles per year.

A surprising number of people posting in the MSE Arms don't drink at all.

There are semi-finals. I think there are almost 40 countries which enter but only 20-something go through.
The UK always goes into the finals because we pay a large wadge of the cost to put it on. This despite the fact that, for years, the voting has been so politically motivated that we're unlikely ever to win ........ particularly when we have ruddy awful songs, too :rotfl:

We've already had this discussion. This time last week I think?

I left the city I did my undergrad in to study toxicology - figured that was a sensible time to quit.

Edit: but not sensible enough to give up alcohol!

    Snap!

I think I'll drive about 5000-6000 miles in 12 months. I still walk to the supermarket If I go at the weekend (if its during the week I go on the way back from work). I've done food shopping without a car for 11 years and its difficult habit to break (also helps to keep buying under control as I know I'll be carrying it).
I tend to get public transport when going out (e.g. got the train to St A on Monday) as my social events generally involve alcohol at one point if not all.

I didn't mean it like that! Sorry :)
I was corrected as I said pretty much the same as you - apparently its self-funding or thereabouts... will see if I can find the post.

Maybe he's sitting in a bedsit in North London, making it all up :)

I love the NPT (and the NP), but that would be ridiculous!

Back from Scotland, and on topic the total mileage for the trip was 1,400. My average mileage in the last 4 years before this trip has only been 1,750.

Perhaps I'm actually a 16 year old boy in Birmingham, and I'm making up all this stuff about a nearly-ex-husband dying etc etc.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

No, you are often almost unbelievably self-disciplined and caring - more than I could ever hope to be - but it all rings true to me.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
