I've got the morning off today, and having just left the shower, I've had one of our (female) managers tell me how attractive I look in a towel/dressing gown
Well if you invite a female manager into your room when you're having a shower, you shouldn't be surprised if she comments. I'm assuming that the kind of hotels used by people at your exalted level of the music business would have all rooms en-suite, so she'd have to be in your room to see you in a towel.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Frustrating morning. I am surfacing from an overnight migraine and dh was doing the hens ( one is not well so it was taking a while) so parent thougt they'd help by feeding the dogs. I woke up to parent yelling 'bad girl, bad girl' because the wrong dogs were eating the wrong foods. It's the kind of thing they just don't think of messing me about with but parent does it all wrong, and the dogs are oblivious to any sense of ' control'.

Ugh. Frustrating is exactly the word for that. Hope you feel better soon.

I'll feel great soon. Overnight migraines are the best of a bad bunch as you don't miss many waking hours. :)

And then it ends up worse, you end up feeling worse and have to get up ... because nobody else does it "right".

What an annoying and frustrating start to the day :*(

In relation to small and family cars - we have a car that everyone assured us would be completely unsuitable once we had a baby, but it's actually fine. It's 3 doors, and fairly small, but works for us. It's a Fiat Brava.

I took it in to the garage this week for a service and MOT, and it was, as usual, fine.

We acquired it in 2001, I think, and it was then 3 years old. In the last 13 years, it's needed a new exhaust, new battery, and shock absorbers, along with the usual brake pads and a couple of new tyres. That's it - and even when left in snow, ice and frost for 3 weeks, it starts first time, never breaks down, and is nippy and fun to drive, and easy to park (1.6 litre engine).

Can't see any reason at all to get shot of it!
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

She popped in to grab my car keys, and I'd just got out the shower.

She also had another managers coffee, so I couldn't allow her not to come in, as it sent her back downstairs (we're only on the 2nd floor) to get him another one :)

I thought about the HGT one, and rapidly decided against it. That was how we came into owning the Lexus. We paid £24000 for it, and it was 2 years old; that's TOTR Mondeo money, for a much nicer car

Some of the older Fiats were nice, however I'd never buy the newer stuff, mainly due to reliability issues!

My old Granada estate was the best car I ever owned; 2.9 petrol engine, imported from Germany, taxied in Moscow for a year, then driven to the UK and sold to a Russian bloke.

I think it ended up in the north of UK, as I know he's not local now.

I had a bravo (3 door, brava was 5 door) for a bit as a work hire car and loved it 1.4, 12v but it was nippy and frugal and the handling was a dream however I wouldn't have wanted to have a high speed crash in it.

I have to say I would not have wanted a 3 door car with a baby/car seat, getting kids into the car is bad enough without trying to do it in the back from the front. (then again we are so spoilt by our 3 upfront multipla that we could not envisage any other arrangement for babies in cars)
    I think....

I thought I'd correct that for you:

I've got the morning off today, and having just left the shower, I've had one of our (female) managers tell me how attractive I look in a towel/dressing gown :j:j:j:j:j

    Whereas:

I've got the morning off today, and having just left the shower, I've had one of our (male) managers tell me how attractive I look in a towel/dressing gown  :eek::eek::eek:
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
