It can take 4 months to buy between seeing it and getting the keys.0 -

I am with silvercar on this one. View it, if you really want it, offer and see if you can stretch exchange. They may not have even looked yet , many don't until they sell and then negotiate with the LL if you want to leave early.
LL may be willing to put it back up to rent if you cover his extra costs and then you leave once a new tenant has been signed.0 -
For Best
... and my parents always kept stuff for best to the extent they never got use out of it. One cutlery set (nothing special) was only EVER used 2x a year. Xmas Day and if there was another "for best" reason (usuallyy wasn't).0 -

chewy, don't let that put you off going for the house. By the time you've faffed about with searches and surveys, and delays further up the chain and all that, several months will very likely have gone by anyway. It was three and a half months from offer being accepted to completion for me, and that was with a very short chain - me as FTB at the bottom, my vendors, and the people they were buying from, who were going into rented.
Then if you do leave your tenancy early, the LL will usually start trying to find new tenants immediately, and you are only liable to pay the rent until they do, if they manage to before the end of your contract.
I know it's more difficult because rent is money up front and can't be added to the mortgage, but if possible try to think of this as 2 or 3 times your current monthly rent added onto its purchase price, because that's what it would cost you to buy it early.
[X-posted with nearly everybody else!!]Yay, I got one of those for downstairs sink but in all chrome. Prefer the glas but didn't see any like that when I was shopping. Apparently they are dreadful for limescaling up so I may have to put a sticky note above it saying 'For Best Only, please use shower to wash hands.
Interesting. My first thought when I saw the water coming out was "how lovely - I'd like to have some of those" closely followed by "but I bet they scale up horribly and don't look nice for long, so perhaps not".Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Possibly. However we haven't even moved into the new place yet - we have to commit to it as our tenancy here ends on 22 May, so a bit high risk to start trying to negotiate with the LL now, I'd rather they didn't know we want to move until everything is signed and sealed as otherwise they might S21 us at the first opportunity leaving us in a mess again. In any case off to Scotland for a week tomorrow PM and I should think it will be under offer by the time we get back.

The downstairs is almost exactly what we want although the upstairs looks a bit cramped and I'd rather it cost about £300,000 less....0 -
Glass taps...cleaning nightmare.
I want a waterfall tap for my bath upstairs, I know I will have to off the peg but in an ideal world I'd be able to find a limestone one.
I am sore tonight, have a frightful rash all over my face, lame on both legs and back.:(.
Been a very mixed day0 -

I'd put in a bid I think. You're getting a lot of property there for London Surrey borders. Bit of a desert for pubs round there though. There's a weird tower nearby that you can see from the A3. Chris Tarrant's a neighbour (that info's probably out-of-date)!:beer:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Very nice Chewy. Very nice. I know the area pretty well as it goes as I was dragged up about 20 miles or so down the road.0 -
Taps ... I just want taps that work and don't splash you when you use them.0
