Thanks for starting the new thread Silver. I'm still doing the family history stuff for my friend so not around as much as usual. Made an interesting new discovery, but that can get tucked away later in the thread when fewer people are looking...

Sorry to hear about your day michaels.

Is it the ctrl-c and ctrl-v bit that is news to you? Surely not, that is the most unbelievable thing I have heard today.

No, It was this bit that I didn't know:
Type "whatever" (without the quotes)
Highlight over "whatever" (without the quotes)
together with:
go back to first window (where "whatever" is still highlighted) and click on the world/link icon

I could have copied the links, but it wouldn't have looked as elegant as past OPs had done. Standards to maintain on NP threads. I looked at the source code (:p) and copied something nikki had done previously but that had a load of
and stuff in it, that I couldn't understand and couldn't get to work. SO I discovered MSE labs.

Better from what? :o. Today's eye thing? That's still here. Compresses applied. Took piriton too (pharmacist suggested not a random odd decision, it surprised me as a help but....) so I am getting quite pleasantly drowsy now.

Could it be as simple as an insect bite on your eyelid?

Had a bit of a sad day. Death of mother at DKs school, estimate for car repairs and parents evening where kids are doing great but not perfect.

Still I can live vicariously through the nice people's exciting lives

Are you better now LIR?.

In order of magnitude I guess. Reading an article today where they quote a figure of one in twenty under 18s experience the death of a parent. I didn't realise it was that high.

DS1 didn't get the job that he was hoping for. By the sound of the rejection email he came second:( He is now quite despondent as there isn't much else around that he wants to apply for.

He can't decide whether he should keep hoping and waiting for a job in the area that he wants to work or "sell out" and go for something that is easier to get in, that pays well initially, but isn't his chosen career.

I think it reasonable to do something else whilst there is a recession and hence no jobs, but will that make it harder to get back to what he wants in 2-5 years time? Or is it a sensible move?

Thanks silvercar.

Considering the recent discussions on house prices and the economy ~ this is now the only thread worth reading. :j

I posted on another thread and then watched it descend in to petty bickering and left.

It's happened a few times. I think it's probably blepharitis.. Certainly it was happening last summer after eye clinic for the other thing. Then persisted for weeks on and off, I raised it at second visit and they said no connection and were not worried. I took a photo today for when I next see so e one.

I don.,t know why today though...for example I wore no make up yesterday. Each time it happens I ditch my mascara just in case. I haven't worn eyeliner for a while as ( frustratingly) I just cannot do it right anymore. But anyway, not her yesterday so ....

Possibly, but he can always lie and say he was travelling
