Hope DS is OK - dealing with vomit is so not fun.

  • Yes, love wire. Got a raft of stuff to start.... and ideas... but feel unable to "set up" as I expect to be moving.

One word .... keishi.... love them!
They're on my "to do" list :)

Keishi of all kinds? Akoya, freshwater, Tahitian?

    Me too, love 'em all.

    Don't go all knowledgeable .... :)

I don't know. Like this: http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Purple-Keishi-Pearl-Petal-Beads-9mm-14-/00/s/NDUwWDQ1MA==/z/yLcAAOxyyF5RVcZF/$T2eC16dHJIkE9qU3lQu6BRVcZFie4!~~60_35.JPG on ebay at the moment.

  • Hard to tell from just one small picture, but I'm 95% certain those are dyed freshwater keishi.

I prefer un-dyed myself, each to her own!

I'm a pearl novice.... and most adverts don't actually tell you what they are, so I know it'd take a lot of time digging around to get to the bottom of quality, type and knowing what's what.

I love purples.... and autumn reds.... and fiery/exciting oranges.

Little stone - preferably diamond. ;)

Short and reasonably thick or longer and fine.

Still in my silver phase, though OH thinks I can't possibly need any more!

I would say my weakness is jewellery, not interested in shoes or handbags, but I can drool over a Tiffany catalogue for hours.:o

I don't drool over handbags, jewellery or shoes....but I must admit a weakness to Radley handbags, I just have to look in the shop in our town that sells them.

I blame the cute dog on them......

Re necklaces - I prefer fine and delicate ones to chunky ones.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Happy to help if I can, just ask. I love pearls (-:

I've spent the morning in a meeting with the school (3rd in less than a week). We are almost at crisis point with youngest son and we are trying to stop it getting to the crisis point...not sure if that is possible but we can but try.

This all relates back to the idea he could start cross siting without any kind of planning or prep, unfortunately, what I warned about in September has now come to fruition...he cannot cope.

They actually thought he was ok because he hadn't said anything to indicate otherwise, one of these days they will actually listen (or read his past educational notes) and get it into their heads that youngest does not ask for help, does not do anything that will draw attention to himself and will not speak to TAs he does not know.

Goodness only knows how they thought a child who took two years prepping and planning to go to high school, only became sort of settled 3 years after arriving at high school, would be able to make a sudden and complete change to his routine with no adverse impact at all...it takes him the best part of a school year to accept a different teacher, let alone several different teachers and a completely different school!

I am so so angry! We finally got him moving forward educationally (at school, he has always shown it at home) and then they go and do that with the end result that he is now falling backwards educationally, is withdrawing socially and emotionally and struggling at school. Youngest is amazingly bright, gifted intellectually but is now showing as just below average..I have been warning about it for ages but because of his difficulty in settling, thought we would have to settle for average or just above but you don't go from being above average GCSE level in maths at age 10 to being below average at GCSE at age 15.

    Grrrrrrrrrrr!!

(Extra exclamation as I am annoyed)

  • I do hope you can get it sorted, Sue. Best of luck.

You and Lydia are amateurs in the "not sorting stuff out" stakes.

When we emptied my parents' house just before Christmas, we discovered three boxes of stuff that had made the journey from their previous house - in 1992.

We also discovered some tins of food at the back of a high-up cupboard that were old enough to double as grenades. A few had best before dates that started 19-- rather than 20--..........

    :rotfl:
My dear mom is a bit of a food hoarder/loves a bargain so much she buys stuff when it is cheap, even when not needed.

My dad & I have been "encouraging" her to start using some of this up. We tried all sorts of tactics with little success, save for the fact that some of this is a fire hazard, & the most successful being when I asked her to consider the interest lost on the money spent.

I'd wager a lot that my parents could get by on buying fresh fruit/veg, milk & bread for at least 2 months without getting bored!

I have challenged her to properly address this. This became a necessity when visiting nephews opened a cupboard & were covered by a food avalanche!

She is trying, to be fair. On the specific point, I recall in the early 2000's finding a tin that said "best before 1982!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.
