I did a 'Reserve and Collect" through Quidco. I later decided I didn't want the item, fully expecting the Quidco transaction to be declined. This morning I find out they've credited my account with £11 :rotfl: I then remembered this happening a couple of years ago, although on that occasion I went to collect the item and it was out of stock. The amount was only 50p so not worthwhile telling them about. They obviously don't bother checking these Quidco transactions, and it must be costing them thousands. I can guarantee there are people who realise they can abuse the system. It will be interesting to see what B&Q have to say.
Oi!!! Keep it quiet - in fact I often R&C which in theory is not available till the next day then head down to the store to collect straight-away. I also need to make back 50 quid for a delivery order which failed to track and B&Q turned down the cb claim even though it was definitely payable by them.

I'm only employed for another 8 months anyways so may need to be whacking it out and using it this time next year.
I would have thought the King and Queen of matched betting might have a few spare pennies to rub together (ask me to take this down if needed)

Do you know of West Wittering LJ?

It has the most beautiful beach and is like a time warp, a cafe and good loos and that is it. The Beach is privately owned (google it if unfamiliar) and has a lovely grassy strtch beyond it for picnics, BBQs, frisbee & cricket. Not far from Historic Portsmouth for a HMS Victory/museums 'day out'.
Another vote for the Witterings as possibly one of the two best beaches (along with Bournemouth) in the UK - yes other parts have prettier, more spectacular and even cleaner beaches but they are darn cold in comparison.

Never posted on 'ubs. Shame NDG no longer deigns to honour us with her company.

Kids have made a large snowman from our 6cm of snow, it remains cold and horrible out - does anyone else find the weather forecasters reminding us that it was 21 degrees this time last year unhelpful :(
    I think....

Is this the end of a research project? Do you have another lined up?

Yes. and no. I'm crossing my fingers and toes that we find some money at the back of the sofa for another year but who knows.

I may be leaving science after this anyways.

LJ my vote goes to Wells Next the Sea and the north Norfolk coast. I love it there. I also love Woolacombe and the area round Lynton and Lymouth.

    (

West witterings are also on the list of opions. I noted this, as I saw it on 2 top ten beaches lists...

Excellent point from spirit regarding proximity to portsmouth! We do like museums/history things (eg previous visits to places like hastings)
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Ooh - that would be a shame (for science). Any particular reason why? Feeling undervalued? (Feel free not to answer, of course - I'm just curious)

Simon Cowell left school with two O levels. I'd love his money, as well as a couple of his cars and houses.

Wells is right by holkham, having a quick google!

One friend has suggested woolacombe. A couple have been there, so there is a little debate occurring...

Lynton/lymouth looks pleasant - adds to list.

Are there any nice waterfalls in the UK? I suspect the answer to that is going to be somewhere in wales?

He's not the norm though is he. Combination of geography, timing, interests, people he mixed with/knew, opportunity and being a kn0b.
