BEEMUZED - so sorry to hear of your loss; I lost my father when I was sixteen and that was thirty-eight years ago and I still grieve for him so, to lose a child.......I can't imagine what that must feel like. I know they say time is a great healer but, really, it all seems like yesterday, doesn't it? I'm sending special (((hugs))) to you and we're ALL here for you.

    Love

Okay, I've only quickly scrolled down so may have missed something important. However ... OldMacdonald Hope you're feeling better soon. Beemuzed Everyone will be thnking of you today. No words will make it any better. Anniestar Congratulations! That's good news for all of us.

Late start for me today after a late night reviewing a rock gig for a rock website, so not had time to do much at all. Then there's another gig to review tonight. Thankfully I have tomorrow off.

It's week 1 of my new shopping budget, so I'm about to head off to Tesco armed with strict list.

I've given myself a new budget when I go to gigs of just £10 per night, which is easy when I'm driving but difficult if I'm buying drinks for others, but I'm sure I came back with change last night. Hmm. That could go into a pin money challenge I suppose ...

Just checked. Yup, even after buying drinks for 2 others, I only spent £7. That's excellent. What should I do with that 3 quid? And perhaps I should get mean about buying drinks for others ...

    Have a good day.

ANNIESTAR - Was it LLoyds buy any chance? Today they have refunded IN FULL all that we were claiming on DH's private account and about £3 extra (a tip?!). £1338.43. We await a refund for his business account - they owe over £2000! You will all be the first to know! Should hear this week! Don't forget to let the 'successes' thread know about it so they can add it to the tally so far! Perhaps this really is a turning point for you - I so hope so! All the best and have a great weekend - it's started well, hasn't it?!
CRAZYCHIK - Last week I listed one book on Amazon but last night I was on a mission and listed 24! It's so simple to list and literally takes about sixty seconds for each one! You set up a seller account in the usual way then all you have to do is enter the ISBN number which you usually find on the back of the book and that's all you do. Amazon find it in their database so the details come straight up; you then have to describe the condition from a choice in the drop-down menu, click on 'continue' and the next page tells you how many Amazon have new and how many they have used and tell you the price. Some of them only go for 1p but, when you submit them, the next page comes up with the financial info and, when you scroll down, it shows that, for a 1p book, if it sells, you get £1.41! Don't know how that works but £1.41 is £1.41 - better in your pocket than on your bookshelf! I haven't sold any yet but I'm full of hope and brimming with selling-confidence thanks to your encouragement with eBay! Hope you list loads and sell loads!

Cheers, will read the thread properly later and post again.
Raining like billyo here as well! Sort of day to curl up in front of the telly!

Crazychik - hope you feel better soon, i know how you are feeling, as i was feeling the same way a few weeks ago, its taken a little while, but im feeling much better now!!! I love ebay and Amazon - Amazon is def easier, i sell most of my books via them, but some of the older books, some people have listed as 1p, so those are the ones i keep for ebay or a car boot.

moiliere - glad you got your charges back too - hope the business account ones follow!!!

Well, im still sat here in my pjs, but i have really bad stomach cramps at the mo, so dont think i will be doing much today, other than search out my hot water bottle!!!
Washing done, some hung up outside and the DW is now on. Just need to make my bread rolls for tea now, and i really do think that will be it for me today.
DS has gone out to play with his friends, and DD is with me, still in her nighty and playing on her DS!!

I do love lazy days sometimes!!!

Beemused- I do know how you feel as my eldest son died at 21 following a road traffic accident and as a result I always avoid work etc on the anniversary of his death. It will always be with you but at least no one can take away the good memories.

I wish you strength to get through today and other days.

    Afternoon all,

Welcome to Riversidejo...I am not wonderful in the OS department I try but the best advice I can give you is to think carefully and honestly before you buy anything, make a budget and take a list when shopping and check what's in your cupboards and fridge/freezer before you go shopping...how many meals can you make with what is there?

Beemuzzed...There is nothing to be ashamed of in grief and it is good to share it with friends, there isn't any magic time span for a time to stop crying.

Anniestar...so glad to hear the your bank charges have been refunded...good start to your weekend.

Just lazing with guests to-day, may take them around the old University town of Maynooth for a drive. GOing out with brother and gf to our favourite restaurant to-night...two offspring delivering us and taxi home, so I can have a couple of glasses of wine...nice.

Not raining here atm but will soon I think so very little gardening or outdoor drying of washing...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

    Everybody have a lovely weekend

    Marie

    Hello everyone :hello:

beemuzed - huge (((hugs))) to you.

anniestar - :j :j :j over your bank charges being refunded!

mioliere - I dabble in a bit of Ebay and Amazon selling too. Ebay has been fantastic for some of my old course books. Some of them even sold for very close to the original price! I posted one book that I sold on Amazon this morning. I promised myself that I'd put the profit into a savings account. I had listed the book at £1.35, they give you so much for postage, but then take away quite a bit in fees. In total, the amount that I get is £2.52. The postage cost £2.38........... so my profit is 14p! However, it's 14p more than I had before I sold it, so it's going into my savings. :D I've put one of my books on at £50............. we'll see....

DH has gone for his lads' weekend in Blackpool. His friend turned up here just after 6am and they had their bacon butties before they left. They were both concerned that they were too "old" for this sort of thing, even though they're the youngest ones going! (at 31 and 33 respectively!)

My "boys" are playing in the Guiness Premiership Final this afternoon at Twickenham. We're going next weekend to see them in the Heineken Cup Final, but just can't afford to go to London twice in 8 days!!! I've posted a message on the club's forum as to whether anyone has got space for a small person on their sofa, but no one is talking my offer of company for 2 hours.:D

It was the Farmers' Market this morning. I got a lovely bunch of asparagus, some fabulously juicy raspberries, ostrich burgers (you can never have too many!), minced beef (another spag bol for the freezer to be made tomorrow), rump steak for beef stroganoff and some lovely eggs. Oh and some apple juice. And a lovely "Blockhouse Pie". :Dand a tray of 4 chocolate brownies, 3 of which seem to have disappeared

    Must go.

    dGood Afternoon All

    Beemuzed big big (((hugs))) today.

Riversidejo - I would set some time aside and go through the indexed collections of OS. It will take some time but it is a mine of information and will motivate you.

    Anniestar - congratulations.

A late post from me today as this morning took DS to watch one of our local footie teams play their final. We lost 3-1 but the atmosphere was really good. Downside is that as DS didnt have footie practice he has so much enery he doesnt know what to do.

One load of washing has been done and is out on the line. Hopefully will dry before next shower comes, is rather windy here today.

Builder is here and hallway looks like a bombsite with all his tools so cant do any downstairs housework so think when signed off here will clean my laptop - its soo disgusting I am ashamed. Then I will go and clean the upstairs bathrooms.

Crazychik - I know how you feel, with my wrist before and now my back playing up Ive been really low, think that makes healing slower as well. Normally Im the one to motivate everyone in this house but they have been doing it to me lately. Think Im coming through the other side - not counting my chickens though! - cleaning the bathrooms doesnt sound much but to me its like climbing a mountain at the moment. (((hugs))) and hopefully you will see an improvement soon.

Gonna go and have a little surf on the other threads now then will get on.

Had burger at footie match (bad) and have grilled pork chops, roasted veg, j pots and corn on the cob for dinner.

    Have a great day.

Beemuzed... I know exactly how you are feeling. We lost our eldest son, 3r child of 10 four years ago as a result of a car accident. It leaves a big hole doesn't it. Always will do. Big hugs from me. He was 19.
