Pigpen. Those are so loft items!
I was imagining extra sets of cutlery. odd plates and pans etc.:o:o:o
I did think it was strange that you could do all those black bags then suddenly feel the need to keep stuff.:)
Enjoying seeing everyone elses achievements here.:D:D
I do feel mine may be slow this month as I'm off on my hols soon so the packing has begun.
Still talking myself into a positive mind for flying :eek::eek::eek:
Oh well, Off to bed but will be decluttering some stuff tomorrow at work.......Does that count??;)

Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say

Oh goodness no.. the 'excess' kitchen stuff went to charity shop years ago when I discovered we would use every pot and cup and plate in the cupboard before washing the pots. I even sent a full dinner service still unused and boxed because we didn't need it!
I kill pans before they get chance to go anywhere!
I have chronic heartburn now.. and the baby appears to be breakdancing in there.. but it is no longer breech.. so there's a bonus
I am still feeling pretty grotty and I'm really cold.. so, it is bedtime very soon.. just watching an episode of StargateLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I reckon you've got a cheerleading baby, that's saying, 'Go, mama!' every time a bin bag leaves the house.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Where are JoJo, Byatt, plus a few more? I am SOOOO impressed by all of you (pigpen, you are doing so well), but I'd like to see some of the originals back too. Please..........:)0

My 'I'm just going to put away Dots washing' turned into.. emptying and sorting her whole chest of drawers and moving it to another place in the bedroom.. I have another binbag for CS though.. and some bits for DD1.
I'm going to have another box sorting session upstairs if anyone would care to join me? See if you can fill a binbag or a carrier bag!?LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi all,
I'm a long time lurker on this thread, thanks to everyone who posts - I feel it really keeps me on the straight and narrow if I read it regularly! Just saw a quote and thought you would all appreciate it:
A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Every increased possession loads us with new weariness. -John Ruskin, author, art critic, and social reformer (1819-1900)
And a little share: My lightbulb moment came when we had family over for Christmas. My brother in law was drying up and putting away the mugs, I explained it was a little tricky to fit them all in when they're all clean (not often!) and he asked me "do you think you might have too many mugs?"... total revelation! Since then, I've sorted through the kitchen cupboards and have become much more ruthless/reasonable about what I keep.
I try now to only keep something if it is beautiful or functional, but preferably both

I remember my mother looking at me oddly when I said I didn't have any mugs and she looked at the cupboard rammed full of them.
What I meant was - I personally don't have any that I like. The kids have about 10 each - from various easter sets and christmas things and one's they've painted at school and ones that were given to them at parties. I have since purchased 4 that I like and got rid of some of the mismatched "humourous" ones that don't hold heat for some reason, but I can feel another sweep coming on tonight.:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -
Well I have a confession and a triumph to get off my chest. Yesterday I was working from home (but I did no work!), I had no meetings scheduled in my diary and my reporting was all up to date.
So I cleared the mahhusssive backlog of washing (washing is my biggest hoard, as I just leave it and leave it).
Anyway as it was sunny, I got everything, and I mean everything washed, dried, ironed and put away!! The only items left were the towels which did not have enough drying time so are going back out when the sun manages to burn through.
I still had enough time to clean our bedroom, and it looks lovely.
I need to stay on top of things as we're about to rip out the bathroom and re-decorate DDs room, both need stripping and re-skimming with plaster so there is going to be mess and dust everywhere, so the rest of the house needs to be sorted.
We need to move all of DD and DD into the spare room, which gives us an ideal opportunity to de-clutter old toys and clothes, so that is the next job.
In the background I'm still scanning in all paperwork and once that's done I'll start on the music, we have one huge cabinet with all paperwork and music, so if I can get that all onto the computer and store the CDs in the loft we'll be loads clearer.
Happy De-Richarding everyone :T :T :T"Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it." (Montgomery, L.M.(1908). Anne of Green Gables.)

Sorted through 4 boxes in my room. 2 are now filled with rubbish. I recycled a plastic crate and put some books on the shelf.. just one box left full of random gubbins which I keep going back over and filtering out more. I am far from tidy anywhere but better out than in!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

The last couple of days have not been very productive, as I have been struggling with the heat and pelvic pain, which has got worse today and I have done nothing. So far this week I have only managed to do general cleaning.
I am hoping to get back to sorting through the clutter tomorrow, as I have so much that I need/want to get done.
My list for tonight/tomorrow is:
Sort pictures of items that I have for sale from sorting through ds's bedroom and then list the items for sale
Do some more of ironing mountain
Do some more of laundry mountain
Take the empty boxes along to the recycle tip
General tidy up around the house
Sort through some of the clutter on my bedroom floor armed with my 3 bags(bin, keep, sell)
Catch up with this thread, as it is good for giving me the kick that I need
I think that is probably enough to keep me out of trouble over the next 24 hours.0
