Would someone like to come help me sort my room? It is making me want to curl up in bed and hide!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

the sheer amount of energy you have piggers makes me want to lie down in a darkened room!
I've planted out the poppies and foxgloves, and some aqueigias, all of which I expect will be devoured by slugs, but I've tried. Have been stroppily told off by neighbour for parking in front of her (never in 14 years been opened and actually painted shut) garage for restricting her right of access - fair enough I shouldn't have parked by a dropped kerb and wouldn't have if there was anywhere else to park in a distance I could carry sleeping child to home, and moved it as soon as asked. BUT I am abit miffed that all she really wanted it for was for a delivery van to park in, she has right of access NOT ownership of the blinking public highway in front of her "garage" to park in. Parking is a nightmare, victorian terrace housing, only 2 garages on the street, multiple occupancy student housing with 5/6 cars each, and my house is set back from the road off a narrow lane so no hope for me to park outside my house.
rant over. have started to clear out the paddling pool which has turned into a "swamp":AA/give up smoking (done)0 -
I don't have any energy at all.. I just want to go to bed!
However...
1 binbag for CS and 2 for the bin without even getting through 1/10th of the crap on my bedroom floor.. I haven't even got to the drawers I want to sort!
I have got piles of stuff which belongs to everyone but me too!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
pigpen,
I think you are doing a wonderful job.
We saw a buzzard on our walk today, and a crane or heron - not sure which. The fields and river were buzzing with wildlife.
Recycling has gone to the recycling centre, including a bag of rubble, bucket of weeds from gardening. The garden is an area now where I am surprised how the little bits add up. Normally, I would have thought that it isn't how I'd like it (from when we moved in), but we can't afford to do anything right now. But weeding the paths and sweeping it does make such a difference, and gets us outside.
Lots of dry washing put away but still loads on the line. House is a bit of a mess but will probably straighten up well.
3 candles went to recycling. DH refused to pass them to his mum in the basis she already has loads of that kind of thing. So that was good really.
Am watching Britains Got Talent and my muscles are pleasantly aching.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
The three aerosols have gone 'home' :T.
I've recycled an Easter Egg box and a drinks can from DS's room, and brought down a drinking glass to wash, plus a pair of pants and socks to wash.
I've put a calendar that I never looked at, plus some newspaper, that was put down to protect furniture while work was being done, into the recycling box. There's more newspaper, but I can't reach it yet.
I finished a pop bottle, and that has been washed and squashed and put into the recycling bin(No lurking on the worktop for that one :T)
Oh, and I was going to put a large River Island carrier with cord handles into the bin, when I decided it would make a good CS bag - I've just put a wire basket in there -still wrapped in tissue (another unwanted gift ).

My first week of sorting out the clutter has not gone too well, as I have just really done general cleaning. Apart from the general cleaning this week I have managed to:
Sort through a bag of papers and file/shred as required
Got myself a bag for work and put all of my work stuff in there rather than it lying around the house
I have got myself a cheap diary and I am in the middle of setting myself targets for June; the clutter sorting really starts tomorrow.
I have just about got on top of the washing, I hope to get the rest of it caught up with tomorrow
I haven't really been on the thread since I last posted but I will need to get into the habit of coming on daily for some motivation.0 -
Popped in as i am from a family of hoarders and DS2 is showing hoarding tendencies with his collections. X0

:wave:Hi Minnie - well, I'm only a beginner myself, but it sounds to me like you've made a great start. Don't beat yourself up over what you haven't done; celebrate what you have done :T yeah? x I'm taking the teeniest tiniest steps - ie an easter egg box into the recycling woop woop! go me! So a bag of shredded/sorted paper, a sorted handbag etc sounds excellent to me :T
(You reminded me - I put a second bag of shredded paper into the recycling box yesterdayno sorting required there though as I'm still ploughing through the pile of paper that was set aside for shredding before the shredder was plugged in.)
I've unpacked a bag of presents from Christmas.....2011. Now I have to decide what to do with the contents :think:_pale_.

There's a never worn dressing gown. It's lovely, but several sizes too small. I'll wash it then: Dilemma - do I put it into the CS bag, or do I store it under my bed ( in a drawer I hasten to add)? I do want/need to lose weight - more than several sizes worth :o:( Which will I regret more: getting rid of it then wanting it or keeping it and then not wanting it? Decision made: I'm going to store it ....for now.... I don't want to get 'stuck' on one item, when there are truck-loads of other 'no-brainer' stuff to sort.
I've also found a Planner - with an address book section, every year calendar, and a go for it goals planning/achieved section. I'm going to transfer information across and use it :T:j.
I guess this is the up side of being a hoarder and having a poor memory - it's like having Christmas again.

yay for the decision roundtuit.
you're right, I think, going back and fore over the decisions for these things makes the job seem much harder/exhausting. I've gone back to (typically my children's baby clothes) several times, stripping the stuff out that I didn'twant to keep, and then when I go back to it a few months later I decided to get rid of more.
excellent stuff minnieand hello dancemum
