Use them anyway.. it is usually down to the same company manufacturing batteries so they want you to use single use ones so they make more money.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
DH has gone off to the recycling centre. Definitely helps to keep in top of it.
I am still thinking about the 87 year old on the hoarder's programme who climbed up the mountain of hoard on her staircase to get to bed. It is incredible how, over time, we can normalise situations in our own heads.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. It is cloudy and windy here, so tempting to stay in. DH had to go to work this afternoon so I asked him to drop me off at a particular point on his way. This basically forced me to walk home, and I totally rediscovered the joy of walking outside. I saw bluebells and a huge patch of cowslips and well as hundreds of different shades of green. I am so glad that I went.
This will hopefully help me get rid of my hoarded fat. It does count as hoarded because I am emotionally attached to being fat and therefore invisible.
It also has had an unexpected knock on benefit of making me want to tackle some more of my crafting hoard, because I feel more energised. And because so much of the rest of the house is improved, there is less to do. Bedrooms not just decluttered, but beds made daily (sometimes not until 3pm but we are not aiming for perfection).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. I have almost decluttered the worktop of doom in the kitchen.. just another couple of hours and the flat surface may actually be visible... and before it reclutters itself I AM!!!! going to get the blooming room tiled and the blinds put up!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I watched the 87 year old hoarder too. She must also be super fit. I liked the bit about the bottom drawer. Nobody seems to have them anymore!
I think I hoard wires. I save them just in case and have no idea (apart from the obvious ones) what they are for. I did sell some once on a car boot. Guy says how much. I said make me an offer and he gave me a fiver. And to think I was gonna say a quid!
I am about to get the black bag out... The beer is now cooled. I focus more and am more ruthless with a can in hand!
Might treat girls to a takeaway... If we get loads done. They do a mini pizza, drink and chips for 2.49. But they have that red salt. Been looking for this so if anyone knows where they sell it?
Up, up and away ...Don’t put it down - put it away!

I have never even heard of American chip spice, but I am all for trying something new! It's on our shopping list.
I have shredded loads of letters from my childhood. (I have kept some too, before I give any severe hoarders a heart attack). Some of the ones I shredded had very distinctive notepaper - the pattern or picture has prompted some strong negative emotion due to the time of my life that they remind me of (which wasn't always anything to actually do with the contents of the letter).
I also went through some letters from past boyfriends and every one of them (less than 10!) wrote to me after the end of the relationship and apologised for hurting me. (I think I only ended one relationship; I was a clinger). I went out with some lovely chaps.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. 3 bags taken to the charity shop today :T and a load of rubbish taken from the garden to the tip.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
I just sorted my 8 y/o CoDs so she can fit all her stuff in her 3 drawers and she has next to nothing left! .. off to do my 10 y/os when I have had lunch and recovered! 1/2 binbag for school 'spares' box and a whole binbag for CS and a few items to save for m 2 y/o (8 y/o is little and 2 y/o is huge)
Off to do my 10 y/os next. and no doubt refill the 8 y/os drawers lol.. I will get through some of the rubbish in this house if it kills me.
Child benefit day tomorrow so I am buying everything needed for the baby.. just so I know I have it.. and then I am saving my pennies for 3 new chests for drawers (OH, Baby and DS3) and some tiles for the kitchen which has been untiled for 8 years because I can't decide what I want and don't want anyone in to look at my hovel... it is looking pretty ok in there at the moment.
I am relying very much on the back payment of DS3's DLA.. the application went in on the 28th December and it is still not sorted.. I'm on the phone again in the morning.. they love me! I've been ringing weekly for the last 2 months!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
This getting my husband to drop me off so I can walk home is working well - been out for an hour and a half. I love the green hedges and grassy banks with the high white flowers of cow parsley stretching round the country corners.
DD is at granny's for the afternoon, DH is working and DS is out until this evening so I am tackling the scrapbooking/craft stuff again this afternoon. This is just an initial cull e.g. if I want to keep a picture that DD drew, then trimming it down to size etc. I have magic on in the background so it feels like a real break from normality as I don't tend to listen to music much.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them.
