sjprmc1 - how scary. About 12 years ago there was a knock on my door and a whitefaced little boy stood there, he had fallen just 5 ft from the aerial slide in the park opposite. I'm the nearest house to it.
I put a sling on him and contacted his grandparents. It later transpired that the damage was so severe that he was lucky not to lose his lower arm. I've often thought back to that day and thanked the gods that I was in.

Others - hugs. Well done on progress. I've got a pile of winter jumpers that didn't get worn this winter to CS, wrong time of year for it, but hey ho. Most of the jumpers didn't get worn because they are too short and leave my back exposed.
All my more recent buys are not short so I conclude I must have learned that lesson.
Still making progress with general book and paperwork decluttering. All confidential declutters were shredded some time ago, so the paperwork now tends to go in bin unshredded.

Well, I took the three bags for the rag man...
He said "We have to check everything now to see if it is reusable"
    FOOLISH MAN!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:
If it was reusable I would have given it to the CS.
I told him to look no further and brought it all back home.:mad:

Good decluttering habit being maintained is dealing with the post each day.

Today's post brought £50 of M and S vouchers for persuading a family member to get over his fear of direct debits and take out a Times subscription at the beginning of the year.

Was going to go for a walk when DH got back from work, as american flylady's habit for May is get moving for 15 minutes. But earlier, with that in mind, I popped out in the garden for the first proper time this year. Amazing how much easier weeding is when you do it willingly for a few minutes rather than forcing everyone out for a day session. DD was having a lovely time churning my box of weeds - I swear Stelios could find early hoarder traits in her. My 15 mins turned into two hours and I shall be back out there for a bit more after my cuppa.

Whitewing your earlier post about difficult days resonated with me, it's only recently that I have had complete days where I haven't felt like I wanted to lay down and die. With recent events, I have been angry on my behalf, I'm always excellent at being angry on others' behalf, but not me. Usually I turn it inwards and sink into depression. No, not this time, I am forgiving myself also about things I thought I should have dealt with better, I would never be so hard on other people as I have been on myself.

Anyway, I also agree about the garden, I have a tiny court yard, but have spent the last couple of days sorting it out, less is more I decided, and decluttered lots of pots via FB. :T Looks loads better, even tidied my log store and might get to sit out there one day and enjoy it.

I was looking at some old pics last night, me in the matrimonial home and noticed how much stuff I got rid of, mostly can't remember who I gave them too, but I have come a full circle and I'm gradually replacing the style I liked then (pine, glass, wood) but thought I would never like again. I'm doing it cheaply (by clever sourcing) and getting things I like which replace the make do stuff I got. Not sure that makes any sense. :rotfl:I guess what I'm saying is that I'm reclaiming me. :D

I'm never going to be able to own my own home again, but I have come to terms with that, for the most part, I do get the occasional "bitter" moment but not for long.

Thanks bobble-hat for the encouragement. :)

Ooh, I watched Stelios for the first time last week. Wasn't sure about him at first , but now I have caught up on 3 episodes, I can see he clearly does a good job and knows what he is about.
The participants are very brave to face their troubles on camera, it is just so wonderful to see them make significant break throughs.

I'm enjoying doing little clutter busting jobs: still working through paperwork - 4 lever arch files for the charity shop now and lots in the recycle bin/shredder pile.
All household related paperwork now fits in half a see through box file. That ranges from latest utility bill and insurance docs, to relevant quotes/invoices on work done from people we will use again.
I culled the cards/writing paper stash too: a lot of it a hang over from 2 households combining. I chucked the cards we clearly won't ever send as they have sat in there unused for too long.
I also weeded the box file of equipment instructions and got rid of the ones we no longer own.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

I keep thinking of flylady's 'you can do anything for 15 minutes'.

I went out to do another 15 mins in the garden, and tackled some plants that were well past it. Three hours later, a big bush is completely gone, whole garden is weeded, paths swept and all the garden waste gone. Thanks DS, who was wonderful.

Well, hello there... It's been a longtime since I've lurked and even longer since I posted. Glad to see people are making headway.

I've just written on my diary my five challenges to do before dd1s birthday at the end of the month. These are things that will clear spaces and help me get the next step of my mission going. I wrote a huge list of all the things I need to tackle and it stressed me so much that I did nothing because it was so daunting. So I hid!

In June I mark GCSE papers so will tackle smaller jobs then as I know from past years it helps me take a break and refocus.

Tis bank Hol today so once girls fed I will start - they are still in bed yet!

I spilt shoe polish on my skirt. Although I could probably get it out, I realised that I'd had the skirt 17 years. It was made by a friend so I kept it, wore it, mended it, wore it. But the top I wear it with is now scraggy. So it is going for recycling.

Beds are stripped and in the washing machine so I can make the most of the drying weather. I need to work later and DH is at work now. I do feel a bit like the rest of the world is enjoying itself but I will be fine once I actually start. Starting is the problem, as tibawo knows!
