my blinking washing line has broken in shock at the unseasonal bank holiday weather. harumph. so washing is being draped old stylee on anything that is static for too long outside. the cat is looking very worried.

have booked storage area, can start loading tomorrow. ex is being his usual wonderful self with multiple texts about my character demanding to know what possible reason I have for denying him contact with his children at weekends (that'll be because you are an alcoholic who passes out on floors/toilets drunk multiple times during the day at weekends- I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this once or twice over the last decade).

so have had great fun throwing away his "top shelf magazine" collection (not listed in divorce settlement as his so I guess it's mine!) and bagging up the rest of his stuff from the loft ready to transport over the next week.

the garden is full of life, I never believe it's going to happen , but it does eventually, every year.

Byatt/WW, I am prone to repeated, prolonged, major depressive episodes (my poor kids are genetically beggared) which started certainly in early adolescence but possibly in childhood, currently it's much better, but I expect (and am happy) to be on AD's for the rest of my life. I wonder if this is all connected?

and no - I couldn't do the "I" word for 15secs, and therefore don't, ever do any. I am cultivating a dishevelled look and if anyone says anything I cite environmental issues (also useful for lack of hoovering, using a hairdryer etc).

hope the sun is raising everyone's spirits.

Have managed to get 3 x washings done today. ( was out for most of the day or I'd have gotten more done) although now mount ironing is in full-grow again :(

OH is out giving the gardens their first grass cut of the year!

Tomorrow I will be at home in the morning so will get some ironing done then and later in the afternoon we've got the hospital with DD for an x-ray. She's taking everything in her stride, and doing almost-everything without letting it get in the way!

Was going to say still no de-hoarding but, although there is still tons of work to do I've become a lot better at recognising when things should go of late and over the weekend I've given away a carrier bag of kids clothes that no longer fit (4 prs of jeans in a row tried on for 'wearing' by youngest the other day, and all 4 prs needed to go in the bag!!!). Chucked out a big musical activity thing that is for babies and toddlers this morning, it had been living on top of a wardrobe!

I always think that too. And its always such a joy when everything starts flowering. I've had to work (singlehandedly) on our garden from scratch since it was just a bare bit of dirt, so in 4 years it's transformed. It gives me such joy.

I struggle with Flylady's 'do something for 15 mins', I get sucked in and 15 minutes turns into an hour. Or I get frustrated at the very little I actually get done in those 15 minutes.

I had another baby stuff sale at the weekend, which went much better than the last one, I brought very little back with me. And we had friends visiting so I wasn't able to go and buy - a win win. :)

Like several of us here, I love lists. And notebooks. So I'm using one notebook to write a list of 'long-term' small jobs round the house that need doing. One list a month, but I'm not stressing that everything in the list must be done by the end of each month. If things get carried over, I won't let it get me down. But equally, I won't forget that things need doing if I keep it written down. I hope it helps me.

Enjoy the fine weather everyone and keep on going!

:j I have been in "the wardrobe" or what serves in place of one in this tiny flat; an alcove just a bit shy of 3 feel wide containing a chest-of-drawers and a very high hanging rail.

Have liberated 2 carrier bagfuls of stuff fit only for the ragbag and 2 more of useful-but-not-to-me stuff which is heading charity shopwards tomorrow before I bottle it.

Not finished yet but taking a wee rest to recover my mojo. Rome wasn't decluttered in a day.

I need to stop pigging out and drop back a couple of sizes and also to stop shopping for my Fantasy Self and start (or stop) shopping for my real life. Classic case of too many clothes and nothing to wear syndrome.

I begin to get something an older pal used to say about her clothes; she'd be quite happy with a uniform to avoid umming and ahhing about what to put on every morning.

On the plus side, I have been trying on stuff and found things which I'd forgotten which still suit me, inc something suitable for a family party later this month, which will avoid the dreaded shopping, so I'm one happy bunny.

Onwards and outwards............better get back to it if I intend to sleep in my bed tonight.

keep up the good works, everybody. I'm having the Hoarder series recorded for me and will aim to catch a couple of episodes later this month.

Sooo tired! Got heaps of gardening done at the weekend and loads of washing dried outside. Tackled the Iron Mountain last night and cleaned and de-cluttered my bedroom. Was up until past midnight, which is too late for me. DD up at 6.30. Still have a Flexi-bucket full of ironing to do but bedroom looks lovely (although the top of wardrobe, inside of wardrobe and drawers are full to bursting!)

That's another carrier bag of kiddy clothes given away, and another pair of jeans youngest dd has grown out of added to the pile for donating to someone with a younger girl!

House looks a mess as I done about 5 washings yesterday and got about 3.5of them dried and then today it rained :( so have wet clothes lying, stuff on horse and a humongous ironing pile once again :(. Had a migraine for most of today so didn't get much done!

Started attempting to sort out my bedroom and gave up after not doing too much....that's a task that can maybe be tackled tomorrow!

    Rampant Recycler
The twice yearly wardrobe swap is underway - winter into storage, summer on the rails.
I came across jumpers that didn't make it out of the wardrobe this winter - too short - so they are CS bound.
One small niggle sorted, I've had a bag of used AAA & AA batteries hanging around for months. I took them into A!di and used their recycling bucket.
Last year, with survey vouchers, I bought a 1 hour recharger and AAA & AA rechargeables so as to save money, so there will be very few batteries hoarded for recycling in future.
At Christmas, I was given a board game with an electric buzzer, which said 'Do not use rechargeable batteries.' We decided to work around the rules to do without the buzzer. Most of my battery use is in torches (inc bike lights), clocks, remote controls and my cordless mouse.
