Smiles, it's so good that we're all making such progress. I think I've reached the tipping point in my bedroom well , reached it yesterday. I woke up this morning and rolled over , and grinned when I saw all the clear space. Wooo indeed
I have to be very careful with my energy levels, but it's very encouraging. Today will be taken up mostly with going to the Dr's, but I'll try to gently potter after that:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
Hi chaps! Just read this last page after a looong absence. Thank you for the inspiration. Looked at the Marie Kondo folding method the other day and have transformed my clothes drawers. Needless to say, there is more stuff in the charity shop bag. I would ask where it all came from, but it actually comes from the charity shop. Hmm ...
Helped my Mum start to declutter a room the other day and came home with lots of stuffWhy is it always me? I know I should operate a one in, one out policy but it doesn't always work like that.
We plod onI wonder how many hours of our lives are spent decluttering?

Lol, I could have written that post myself!
Seems that there is a mother-daughter dynamic which sees stuff shuttling between their respective homes. And most of my excess originated in the charity shops (and occasionally the boot fairs) as I seldom go into proper shops, unless they are selling food or are of the discount variety.
As to how many hours are spent clutter-shuffling, that's one calculation I haven't dared run, even in my own life.:eek:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Helloooo
I have posted a couple of times but just lurking occasionally.
I have started to clear out my kitchen because the washing up kept getting out of hand and I am going to put most of our crockery and things in a box away in a cupboard so we have only two of each thing available for use.
I have booked cleaners to come on 22nd August so want to get the house sorted so they can get to everything**Debt Free as of 15:55 on Friday 23rd March 2012**And I am staying that way

Good luck with the visit of cleaners! I found that when I had a weekly cleaner I did quite a bit of cleaning beforehand too.
I quickly got myself organised with a lot more practical storage to make it easier for her to clean, especially in the kitchen and bathroom. That was after the decluttering, of course.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Have a permanent route to offload DsS's too small clothes, via my hairdresser, who's married to my god-brother, who's hand-me-downs ironically used to come to my brother and I
We're on top of the flat now we've been living together about 8-9 months. I was reading a hoarding site and they do a 'five-a day' thing where they declutter five things per day, I was thinking of trying that.
So depending on your circumstances, it could be empmtying the kitchen bin, taking the recycling out, taking a toy to the charity shop, giving away an item.
I get frustrated at work thinking of what I could be doing in the house!**Debt Free as of 15:55 on Friday 23rd March 2012**And I am staying that way

I've decided this isn't quite true, small areas have developed 'heaped pile of carp' appearances.... Going to slowly work on them.Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Jan 2012: £16,000+ [STRIKE] Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Sep 2013: £13,023 [/STRIKE]
