:) Bonfires are great. I will probably have another one before the end of winter.

Lovely day today, would have been pleasant for mid-Sept and was downright sultry for mid-October. Dug and delved and added some more glass, nails and brick fragments to the bucket and a lot of couch grass roots and horsetails to the trug. Will be planting broad beans tomorrow to overwinter for an early crop, weather permitting.

Whilst stooping and digging, I considered a particular favourite shirt. I bought it Sept 2010 for £2.80 and it has had a lot of use. As in being worn just about every week since then. The fabric is starting to give way and the whole shirt is a PITA to iron, so will debutton that and send for ragging.

;) And that salves my conscience for the rather nice uniqlo long-sleeved grey tee I bought in the 50p chazzer this afternoon. One in one out, if not decluttering, at least keeping stuff in check.

    It was a lovely evening.

Oxfam, Kings Heath was packed. While some remained standing, a lot of us ended up sitting on the floor.

The chocolate was Divine ...... :p it never made it home......:o

:) Oooh, people have met The Minimalists, envy envy.

And to think I was thrilled to get hold of a copy of Bea Johnson's The Zero Waste Home from my library.:rotfl:

Have taken two well-worn and much mended shirts and debuttoned them and they have gone for ragging. Bought a book from one charity shop yesterday afternoon, read it yestereve and this morning, and it's now in the donation bag which will exit shortly when I head up the road.

The thing which has got me the most chuffed is a pesky mending problem. I rarely buy new clothes, and I rarely have clothes suffer severe injury in prominent places where mending would look awful, so it was a great annoyance to me when those things co-incided on a new fleece in its first week of use. Melt hole (large) right in the middle of the chest.

Finally decided I needed to rag it or resolve it, and got on my thinking cap and into my fabric box. Fleece now has two applique'd diamonds in a toning fabric which makes it look like a fancy fleece not an injured fleece, and so it will get used. Yayyyy!!!!!!!

:o I know that in the grand scheme of things, this is really small beer, but it has made me very happy and will get some clutter out from underfoot.

Righty, better get my feets on and head up the road to the Hoxfam with my donations (the applique'd fleece is staying) and then do some more errands.

Keep up the good work, my lovelies. GQ xx

    It's very satisfying, isn't it? :D

I've still got three items in my sewing pile - it doesn't help that they're black and look like their lurking.

I need to sit down with them soon or get rid. They've been there weeks.

:p I would like to answer that by giving some salacious story but alas, I am constrained to be truthful; I was on a bushcraft course and we were sitting around a campfire and a bit of hot woodash/ ember landed on me.

Shoulda had a woollen jumper rather than a microfleece, but it's easy to be wise after the event, isn't it? :rotfl:

Just nipped in from doing the chazzer run, so one big bag outta here. Have abought a top, which is something for Mum which she told me to look out for on her behalf - saw this thing yesterday, described it to her last night and she wanted me to get it. So I did.

But that's not staying so isn't classified as re-cluttering.

ETA; Weeks? Pah, what are you, some kinda lightweight procrastrinator?! I know several wimmin who have found items of kiddie clothing from the primary school years in their mending piles ONCE THE KID HAS LEFT SCHOOL. As in, fully grown up. That's what you call proper procrastination, that is. By 'eck, when I were a lass, you could get proper procrastination done, it's never been the same since metrication and................*wanders off blethering*

People have proper mending piles? Wow, you are all better housekeepers than me!

(rushes off to check state of our clothes and mendable things).

:D My 'mending pile' lurks in various places; on the top of the sofa back, on the table, in the bedroom. Mending Pile as a title implies a greater degree of organisation than exists IRL.

:o Anyone else find that if something (not necessarily clothing) needs mending there are two tracks in can end up on; sameday or indefinate postponement?

I was motivated to get my arris in gear as have people coming over for tea tomorrow. They've known me for years (20+ in his case) so not going to be too shocked, but I do want them to have room to sit down.

Ahem. Will have to work on that a fair bit then. :rotfl:

Not Getting Very Far with DS1's room... I've put aside two big bags of fabric for a fellow freecycler in need, sorted out some deceased bedding which would be best disposed of, and a huge pile of - yes, mending! It must be mending week... but this is mostly stuff that will be sold on once intact again. I've already patched & shaken up a lovely old eiderdown ready for sale. But I don't even seem to have made a dent in the ghastly muddle yet. I'm rather hoping that it's one of those jobs that doesn't look any better until you're nearly finished...
