I did get the two books out of the house this morning.

Can't wait until the weekend to have a proper purge.

I also did the dehoarding research survey that someone posted about on here. Thank you.

:o Would you adam and eve it, I've just found the tablecloth I thought I'd charity shopped once before?! It'll definately go out in the next bag.

I'm fossicking in the bottom of the airing cupboard. The lowest three feet of this tiny cupboard hasn't got shelves in and holds one of those collapsable mesh laundry baskets with some clothes in, such as woolies (vac packed) and various other things. I have corralled all the warm stuff like hats (2) gloves and scarves together in one drawstring bag, so I won't be fumbling around for them come the cold weather.

I have also found some stuff which shouldn't have been in there, vacuumed out some fluff and washed the tiled floor of the cupboard. It's astonishing how easy it can be to forget what you own and where you've put it. Goodness knows how people who have lived in the same home for decades cope; I haven't been here one decade and I go thru my stuff pretty regularly, and I still find Stuff that I haven't seen for a while!

Hokay, one of two things in there will need some thought about, before I decide their eventual deposition, but I won't stash them back in there whilst I think about it, I'll keep them in view so that I will make a decision.

    Onwards!

:D I stole it from somewhere.

It's a fair description of some of the activities in this small home; you are like a terrier down a rabbit hole, sometimes. My hall is 75cm wide and has 4 full sized doors, plus two skinny doors (broom cupboard and airing cupboard) and one extra wide door which blocks the whole hall (tank cupboard) when opened. Any activities in there are constrained.

I had Henry d'Vac in the broom cupboard, switched on, whilst I vac'd the linen cupboard opposite. Madness.

    afternoon all.

hi suzi, congrats on your weddining,
when me and my husband got married i put all our cards and photos into a photo album so that we could keep them safe as they werent ones we wanted to get rid of and i didnt want them just laying around either that might be an option for you.
but we didnt have all that many cards. should get mine out and have a look but i dont think we even had a card off my dad or my nan but thats cos they knew my mum was turning up.
had a load of bother over mine, couldnt do this couldnt do that etc etc etc, so in the end we didnt bother saving up brought it forward then turned round to everyone and said this is the date yes my mum knows if you turn up you turn up if you dont you dont same with everyone, in the end it was my friend and her husband as our witnesses her son an my mum and her husband, then bil and sil turned up at the local for a drink with us in the night.
but as nice as it would have been having everyone there, i think i actually prefered the way we did it in the end. probably cos there wasnt so much fuss made. and all the photos were done by the people that turned up. my niece came and done my make up and hair as her gift and it was really nice, just a shame the weather hadnt been slightly warmer but at least it was dry :)

pigpen, will have plenty more space once those bags disapear, i still got 2 to take down to cs when i can get myself into gear enough to go out. altho thinking baout doing the table top sale tomorrow dont know yet see fi i get up if i dont i dont.

somehow i think ive cought up on sleep last night slept over 13 hours couldnt believe it when i woke up and realised what the time was.

last night put my 2 craft trolleys together as one so got a huge tower of draws threatening to fall in the corner of the "dining room" think im gonna have to rethink that one. put them back into 2 sets again maybe.
noticed on the craft forum im apart of some people have started on their christmas cards, and theres me thinking its too early to make a start on them yet.
maybe i can go through my scraps and declutter them into backing sheets, found an interesting way to use your scraps by putting them together on one sheet then squaring them off to make another backing sheet, probably not a new thing as i dont keep up with it like some poeple do and i made one not long back and liked the effect got and got plenty of backing scraps i didnt know what to do with.

and i got 2 mattresses i need to declutter hubby gotta take them down to the tip for me at some point, we kept them so we could use them to sleep on when nan stays but i got an air bed, thats arrived so the mattresses can go instead of standing up against the wall, or wardorbe as they are at the moment. and the air bed folds up into its own little bag that can be hidden in the cupboard.

decided i need to go through the tops of the built in cupboards again, didnt do much but tidy them up a little bit.

i know i got some magazines there that im not sure what to do with, maybe i can hide them in the attic for now, they are magazines that came with the miniature flower fairy plates i collected, about the flower fairy on the plate, and a little rhyme for them and other useful little bits of facts. would probably be better to keep just in case i ever got rid of them so they can go together, as far as i know i got them all. should probably check.
but then i got the same problem with the cake decorating mags i collected, almost done witht he collection but theres a few more than i expected to the collection, no idea where to keep them. got them in file folders at the moment but no where to really keep them, but wantt o keep them as i go through them often to look for something different to have a go at doing.
just dont always have the nesasary bits or the money to get them but they still fun to have a go at when i do like my christmas cake last year gave me something to concentrate on after everything that had happened.

while im thining about it, would anyone know any where in wales i could contact about collectibles, i conatacted 3 places 1 never got back to me, and the other 2 did but couldnt help, not worth enough to give me information on them from the one and not old/antique enough from the other place to help. and i couldnt find anywhere else i could find out about them or sell them as i dont think they are things that could just be sold without finding out a little bit about them.

well ive never known for the council to do this before, had a letter today saying that for our area only next wednesday they are putting a skip out front for everyone to get rid of stuff, you are only allowed 3 items per household and you have to take the letter we have had to prove we live here. so i can get rid of those 2 mattresses, but as they are both the same item coudl i argue its only 1 :D lol same with black bags maybe i should sort out the shed, tie black bags together and try and pass it off as 1 item lol.
doubt it ,never mind at least i can get rid of the mattresses without using petrol to take em to tip and probably sooner than when can get hubby to take them.

well managed to get the one shelf in the one cupboard sorted in between getting food ready and kinda stared on the other shelf in the other cupboard. needed someone with me so i could pass stuff to instead of getting up and down off the stool, might see if hubby will give me a hand with it now for 5 minutes before he settles down to much :D

Anir.. ours have an annual pick up and you can leave out as much as you want and they take it away.. it is a fantastic help every year I have tonnes.. this year I am emptying and dismantling a shed so you can imagine what gubbins will be thrown out! Make the most of it.. you could always ask your neighbours if they are not using their quota if you could!!

:) It's happened here before, but not for years. It was a drive to get bulky stuff out of people's gardens as well as to hopefully prevent fly-tipping. There isn't the funding here to do it again, so I'd leap on it with both hands and see if you can have a neighbour's quota if they're not using it. I'd co-operate with a neighbour in such a circumstance, I reckon.

I'm getting up to the allotment this morning, but will be turfing out some more rubbish on my way out of the block (we have communal not individual waste collections here) and I like to get the stuff out regularly.

Having some Thoughts about the stuff in and presently partially-out of the bottom of the airing cupboard. Thoughts are along the lines of what if I get rid of this and then I need one of these, even though I have four perfectly good ones already and then I have become really poor and can't afford another one even at secondhand prices and then I'd be really sorry.....

Perhaps they were your mum's, shortbird? Could she be a dehoarder!
