Sleep tight and dream of empty spaces.
    :D I love this quote!

Was in a very poor way last night, banged up from multiple bruises from a bad fall earlier in the day (woman meets bathroom porcelain, woman gets lotsa bruises, owww-eeee). So, just before 9 pm I made myself a HWB and retired from the fray and have resurfaced back of 6am raring to go. Black and blue in places, but raring. You can't keep a GQ down for long, we're like Weebles.

Have a splitting headache but am drinking lots of water and hoping it's just a bit of dehydration and will pass. Prepped for a meeting, having mananaged to come up with Suggestions, something which poor brain wasn't up to last night. I shall take a clipboard and wear my best blouse, thus armoured for the fight. Da Management have sent me, humble drone that I am, as they don't want to go. I've done committees and am not afeard.:rotfl:

Place is an absolute pit atm, but I have a busy day followed by archery club, so not a lot will get done. And you know what? I'm not going to beat myself up about it, either. We all have full-on lives and sometimes de-junking is a bit too much.

roundtuit, nice work with the sheets.

ginny, woo-woo, good on ya Dad for the book. A little unexpected cash in hand is great. Silver is about £12 per troy ounce atm, so sounds like you got a decent price. Think there's 31.something grammes per troy ounce............

Right. Bring me my bow of burning gold - oh darn, that's this evening.....Bring me more tea! Have a good one, folks.

I dreamt about odd socks! :rotfl:No matter how many I found of each type of stripe etc there was always an odd one lurking. One thing I now know - I dream in colour :)

I actually came on line to say the general waste bin and two recycling bins are at the gate ready to be emptied. :T

NEWS FLASH- even as I type the general waste bin is being emptied by men in high vis jackets and ......... it's gone :j:T:j I can now bring it back in before I go to work - I love empty bins :o. (The recycling lorry will be along later so I'll have to wait for the delights of having two empty boxes too!)

Well done to people making money from their hoards - I may be able to do that when I start unboxing treasures currently stored in the small bedroom/cupboard under the stairs/shed. But I need to sort out the visible clutter first - will maybe be able to have some of my 'nicest' things on show when I unearth them. :D (It's a bit exciting isn't it?)

GQ - you go steady. Are you sure you didn't bang your head? We don't want you flaking out at meetings with concussion! Or with anything else come to that! And why did you fall - was it a slip or a black-out? Do you need to be seeing a doctor? (Here endeth the concerned questioning?)

Work beckons. Have a superb day everyone.

    Much love

:) Glad your bins have been emptied. We're on communal bins so I don't get the same pressure to only have X amount of disposal space.

I was stepping into the tub (to use the shower) and slipped, hit my leg in several places. Took the brunt of the fall on my thigh and have a bruise about 8 x 6 inches, a ding on my knee and another on my shin, all on same leg. Caused by being off-balance due to acute sleep deprivation (3 nights almost sleepless thanks to neighbours. I hates them, I does, I hates them.)

I'll live. And I have stirred my stumps to chuck last night's dishes into a bowl of piping hot soapy water, then leave them for a couple of minutes then wash and rinse. Sort of feels like cheating as not proper washing up if I'm not standing over the sink constantly.

Kitchen needs a good bottoming out but it ain't getting it today, although I have noticed a couple of smears on the cupboard door immediately under the sink which I think I can just about bring myself to clean.

Actually, I think I can swing by the communal recycling bin on my way to work and clear out that stash, which will lessen the "weight" of stuff here.

Will quickly have a re-inforcement of values from minimalism websites first. Got to remember the goal - wide empty spaces.........

ETA; kitchen cupboard door cleaned, sink cleaned, bicarb of soda and boiling water inside the teapot to soak whilst I'm at work. All good. Plenty of grot left, but at least I've done something. To work now. GQ xx

I also took an empty piccalilli jar out of the fridge and put it with the other jars waiting to be washed for recycling.

Why did you have an empty jar in the fridge?

Started sorting craft stuff ready for its move to the spare room (now to be the craft room) 2 boxes sorted and now only half a box left. The problem is I stick things out of the way then forget about them.

Not done much today as Hubby is very weak so dont want to disturb him banging about. Have cleared a drawer in the kitchen though so not too bad.

I made a start on the massive plastic box that I threw shedloads of paperwork into ages ago in despair. I needed to find my exam certificates and knew most of them were in there in a folder. Still not got all of them but not worrying too much about it. Apart from my degree, most of my qualifications are quite 'old' anyway and doubt the 'missing' ones will make a difference. Long term, hopefully the missing certificates will turn up.

I also found some of my uni coursework which may help in my current job application. Still not sorted through the whole box but have got rid of some out of date paperwork and put some of the rest of it into better order. It can join the 'to do' list for when I've got these current job applications out of the way. I'm also aware that if I get a full time job I'm going to have less time for all this so need to get my !!! into gear!

I put it back in the fridge with the idea that there was a last scrape-ful of piccalilli in it months ago, but when I next wanted piccalilli I started a new jar instead. :o
Empty recycling boxes have been brought back into the yard, and I've had the WM on tonight - just one load done to keep the forward momentum going.
Used the last tissue in a box, and finished a roll of kitchen foil, so a small stash of cardboard accumulating for DS's dad to take for recycling the next time he visits.

It all helps - I keep telling myself

  • Currently decluttering chocolates. Decluttered some awful marmalade. Remind me not to make it again, peeps.

Can't do any more. Feet up in front of the telly and try again tomorrow!

:) I'm just in from archery via the reduced shelves at two different supermarkets and am decluttering some YS bargains in the oven and thence into me.

Oh, the boundless satisfaction of the whoopsied grocery item. £6 > 0.99p. How delightful those Finest products will taste. I just couldn't have enjoyed them at full-price.

I shall have a minor paperwork cull (the meeting stuff) and de-frag the wallet and handbag and figure that'll be enough. I have added an "archer's kiss" to my collection of bruises, so better wear long sleeves tomorrow.

Glad the certificates are starting to surface, noelphobic, knew you wouldn't have trashed them, just a case of getting a hold and keeping a hold. Keeping organised once started is a heck of a lot easier than starting from scratch, don't you find?

I also bought a new pen of a particular kind I favour today to replace the emptied-out old one. I shall bin the old before I take the new one out of its wrapper to avoid confusion. Oh, and a used-up roll-on deodorant was finished with today, so that's only left one on the premises, plus a couple of sprays. Thinning out the bathroom herd, one product at a time.

Keep on, my lovelies, with plenty of refills of drinkies and snacks. We have to keep our strength up..........:rotfl:
