Went through afore mentioned notebooks and now they are in the paper bin. Very little of use in any of them. :j I now have a clear bedside cabinet :j small steps but very rewarding. Just de-cluttering a coffee and some tuc biccies, well it had to be done. Next thing, copy all pertinent things from old diary into new and burn old one.

Morris*ns are collecting used Christmas cards for charity and I think Boots do to so how about taking them there guys 1. doing some good 2. getting them off your premises 3. make yourself feel good instead of over thinking it (which we all do). just a thought. xx

Hope all goes well and time flies for you GQ x

Yes I think you are all right. As if I put up more than one tree as I may next year it would be silly to get rid of any, and I do have the storage for them.

I was avoiding putting things in the loft for obvious reasons, but in reality they are going to have to go up as usless for another year now.

I think I was suddenly just shocked at how much I have as started mooching at the ones I hadn't used this year. But if i'm honest I don't think I will ever part with them.

I hope tomorrow goes ok for you GQ and you get the results you want.

We've got more than enough xmas decorations, as we have only decluttered the broken ones. I'd have more than one tree if we had a little more space. We have xmas decs up for a month, but look forward to it from Sept so that makes it worth keeping some excess.

I did more gift tags today but have run out of ribbon.

Saw The Karate Kid film on TV by accident. I hadn't watched it because I thought it was the '80s version which I have seen a million times, but this one had Jackie Chan in it. It was brilliant visually as it was set in China. I feel very inspired by the beauty of the Eastern world.

DH decluttered and reorganised the cupboard. We got rid of a box of stuff, which was a bonus as we use the cupboard a lot and I wouldn't have thought there was anything to go. It helped to pull everything fully out.

There is some other stuff in it that may be able to be shredded etc later in the year but I have have to check it out as it is work stuff. But it is all in one place now and will be a job that can be done 30 mins at a time.

I have drunk a lot of water today, which is good. 1 glass a day is my aim - to make it achievable - so the rest has been a big bonus. I am trying to set a better example for DD. It surprises me sometimes how much she does or plays with or enjoys because she has seen mummy do it.

The floorspace is clear and everything fine, except for the two tables which need to be sorted tomorrow. I am hoping that it looks worse than it is.

DH is watching Match of the Day so I may do a last 15 mins of something before bed. I am tired now.

    Sleep well everyone.

Glad I'm not the only one with piles of washing on the go today.

I have some birthday stuff to wrap up.

Your posts have reminded me to put some washing on as back to work tomorrow.

Xmas stuff is in the loft other than a couple of sets of fairy lights that may come out again for parties/barbecues etc.

The under the stairs area in the dining room is now a bit of a mess so I shall do this this afternoon. It has the festival tent and gear in there, cat box, bags and bags of gift bags/wrapping papers etc. I'm not sure there will be anything to ditch, but it needs tidying after dragging all the xmas stuff out over the last 3 weeks. It will feel less chaotic when tidy, as looks like a bomb has hit it at the moment.

I have decided to start growing things this year and just spent a fortune on boxes etc to put seeds into, wish I had kept all the trays and washing tablet boxes now to use for this....still, at least if I keep them again they will have a purpose whereas before they didn't.

Actually we get loads of plastic trays at work so I could nab some of these as others do.

Good luck to those at it today.

Just chucked out my house cardigan as its holey and replaced it with second best cardigan, new boots bought at last so throwing away old ones and my comfy raggy trainers - theres shabby chic and just damned shabby.

Finally got to Cs with latest bag and have half a bookshelf empty. Im feeling the benefit now of de- richarding, things are improving daily. Off to do fleabay pics in a minute. There comes a point when it starts to make a difference :j Put a lot of bits in the re-cycling from the kitchen, you know, those odd bottles and jars that will be useful but are really clutter. Also found some jewellry that I intend to sell for scrap. One bracelet feels unlucky to me and need to get it off the premises, weighed it and its worth £12 (silver) so that a little more for my debt busting.

Family had enough excess ribbon that I didn't need to buy any, which is great.

Place is a tidy tip at the moment; not too bad but I didn't get much finished today so lots of half-done things scattered about the place.

I am very pleased that I didn't allow myself to strip the beds today. I thought I'd wait until the other loads were done. It would have been a pain to wash and dry them before we go to bed tonight.

My mother has started to wear clothes that she she has been hoarding for 'better' occasions. I had a good conversation with her about that - she will feel much better if she is wearing nicer stuff. It clears up the mystery of why she wasn't seen in the lovely coat I gave her a couple of years ago - I think sometimes my father encourages her to look a mess; when he feels crap about himself, he likes to inflict his crapness on others.

Half a bin bag of stuff has gone out today, plus a toy that is outgrown. Recipients have been very grateful.

I am feeling quite virtuous today. I filled an estate car and did a run to the tip. Over half was clothes - my clothes, baby clothes etc. Perhaps I should have charity shopped them but I decided that next time I will simply have to remove things from my wardrobe! I also got rid of a stack of cardboard boxes and baby toys.
Since I've been back, I have sorted out the cookery books and have started another bag of clothes - now I can get back into the wardrobe in the spare room which had been blocked.

    :) Evening all.

Well, was at the clinic by 07.30 and was done just before 5pm so managed to get home by 5.30pm. All went well, although I am down 35ml of the red stuff.

Did two out of my three sewing projects in the waiting room and finished the novel I started yesterday so it and another library book which I got out earlier this week can go back tomorrow. Gotta keep those books churning around.

Found a couple of brochures which went into the recycling and used the last of a bottle of shampoo which I intended to save to take on holibobs, as is a good size, but closer examination proved that the top was formed in one piece with the neck and wouldn't come off for refilling so I rinsed, drained and have put that out to recycling.

I'm not formally doing a 7 days no spend kind of thing but I am going to use stuff from the fridge and the freezer and see how far I can go into January without buying food, and other things. Every time you stay out of those shops is a time when you aren't acquiring more stuff.
