Thanks Calico, I know all I have to do is ride the storm, I don't consciously feel upset (if that makes sense), it's a deep rooted thing that pops up and as hard as I try, I can't shift it, till its ready to go on its own. :o

Ah the pumpkins, one is my tiny, tiny one I grew, the others were offered on FB for free. I found myself writing yes, I'll have them please, :rotfl:

Hi all I have had a quick read through (have been offline since november as december is family time for me) you are all doing so so well, well done!!

I have been keeping on top of the cleaning but not the sorting. My decorations will come down on Thursday as I have other halfs family round for a buffet tonight and my family round for a roast beef dinner tomorrow.
Everything in my house that now needs sorting is hidden away which is why im hosting at my house this year, I aim to tackle one room at a time in the new year aswel as daily cleaning (I have now got a great rota) and some things thrown up in the attic too. all old toys now need to be sorted as they have new ones for christmas.
I am feeling much better right now than I did this time last year!

:o That was nearly my situation, the free pumpkins. My Nan grew several and they could've been mine but when I calculated the aggro of hauling them around the county on the coach plus the time and effort to process them, I decided that I didn't want them that much.

But, by golly, isn't it tough to refuse a freebie? Part of it is natural human greediness and part, at least for me, is having been very poor and having a leftover scarcity mentality. As in, if Idon't accept this (insert whatever) I will really really come to regret it.

Today is a work day for me but, as I don't work full-time, I will have a bit of the day after work but before the shops close. My mission, should I choose to accept it, is to go buy a hard-drive to preserve my elderly pooter's stuff inc XP, in event of The Blue Screen of Death.

Will continue to declutter the freezer with view to saving money in January and the defrosting it. Plus I need to make room for any YS bargains which come my way.

Keep chiselling away at it, lovely peeps. If I feel enthusiasm waning, I google for hoarding websites. A few good (i.e. horrific) visuals and testimonials is enough to harden my resolve.

Hi, am joining if it's ok.

Have some Christmas decorations to give to someone collecting to do a charity float in the summer for a carnival, and some DVDs I will give to charity shop. Books might go the same way too. Loads of rubbish to throw out today too. Happy new year all x
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

I had a lovely time last night with all my cards and my pattern-edged scissors (reminded me of my Nan's 'pinking shears'). It was the perfect job for the evening. It's wonderful how a little creativity can boost morale - simply choosing a different colour ribbon could change the look of the gift tag. As I was thinking about each gift tag, and who had given me the original card or who would like this gift tag, it did let me reflect on the relationships and friends and family members and how life is evolving for us all. I have been missing 'hope' for a few days but I could feel the natural optimism creeping back in.

DD was so excited with my scissors and the hole punch and the ribbon. She made a mess but enjoyed herself immensely. We did get up early today and cleared up and vacuumed so we have a relatively clear house to come back to. And we have been invited out for a roast dinner tonight, which is great after a day at work. We'll still have a few hours at home before welcoming in the New Year but at least we won't be cooking. (I may take down this year's cards and gift tag them, before tomorrow's clear out and pack away).

It's quiet at work at the moment but still lots to do. Like making sure I drink plenty of water to get into practise!

Happy New Year, one and all!

WW, I took my cards down last night and started to cut some of them into tags, I did find it very relaxing (I gave my pinking scissors away so just normal scissors), I'd like to encourage my creative side again, it got lost when I was 19 after a huge sadness.

GQ, I'm not sure why it's hard for me to say no to freebies, maybe part of the mindset that it would be stupid to say no, when it's free. I am making use of the pumpkins though, made soup for the freezer and have some for lunch today, then I will make some pumpkin bread and chutney. They are a pain to cut up though! :o

Oh, my outside bin decided to delutter a small glass table in my garden, it fell on it during the night and smashed it. Decision now made for it to go the tip!

Just popping in to say Happy New Year to everyone as I can't remember if I did it last post.

Hopefully in the New Year we will all get to grips with the areas we want to and stride ahead with our goals.
