Baby bath can go too and DH gave some veg to family. Need to use up the contents of the small freezer. There are lots of one portion left things in there.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Hello! I joined in for a while on the last thread but got overwhelmed by my living room and dropped out.
Eventually I decided to treat it as a room sized puzzle - which bits should go where - to try and trick my brain into viewing it as a game. It kind of worked, the clutter is halved, and what there is, is in boxes. I also have a new sofa and dyed the living room curtains to match (which prompted me to realise I'd never washed them once in fifteen years!!) The room looks much fresher now. I just need to figure out what to do with all the miscellaneous clutter that doesn't have a home but may come in handy one day... I may post a list so you can slap some sense into me (or suggest where I could store it!)
Oh, and I finally managed to convince my GP that the medication he had me on was very slowly killing me. He prescribed the one I wanted to try, and the difference is amazing. I no longer need to lie down on the floor mid afternoon because I can't stay vertical anymore. And my muscles no longer go into spontaneous spasm. I'd forgotten what it was like to feel energetic! Feeling healthier has helped a LOT!0 -
hmm. sunday pm didn't go as planned - attempted to vacuum, which blew all the sockets upstairs including the boiler but didn't trip the RCD. After ringing an electrician (answerphone, never called back) re-arranging the wiring in the newly insulated loft, serial turning on and off of various previously unlabelled switches on the RCD managed to get electrickery back on, and surfed to try and fix vacuum.
attempted the easy fixes first: wash the "lifetime" filters, so did - and they disintegrated. have ordered new ones but that'll teach me to try and vacuum.
a charity have put a collection bag through the door so will fill that tonight and put out.:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -
A bad day is not a sign that you should not attempt dehoarding (just in case anyone is having these kinds of thoughts that used to cripple me).
Today's 'out' is a bottle of shampoo, a brand none of us like - was given to us - but will be gratefully received by other family.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Had a major problem yesterday - currently remortgaging so had a valuer coming to take a look at the house at short notice. I had a major panic, tidied as much as I could and then crammed loads of stuff under the duvet cover. Not my finest hour but at least the floor was clear
What's even more infuriating is that husband is now complaining that I moved some of the remortgage paperwork and I've no idea where I put it in all the rush. I reminded him that if he hadn't left it lying around (and hadn't left all the tidying to me), it wouldn't be lost. This is coming from the man who claims to be the 'tidy' one in our house!"Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -
out
rubbish from DD's crayons box
2 paperbacks
3 catalogues
1 toy
some clothes that I don't like the brand
Not much, but will free up some space. But it helps to get rid as it makes me better at keeping on top if it:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
charity have collected the bag of stuff (I wasn't entirely certain that it was this tuesday or last it should have gone out!) so that's good.
Bins out tonight so will try and round up some more recycling.:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -

Not me! Ongoing sinus infection and general feeling of rubbishness (not sick enough to stay at home, not really well enough for work) plus studying is getting me down. Still looking for the missing paperwork."Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0

Hello folks,
Everyone seems to be doing well.
Gentleorange I can remember you....and i'm liking the idea of a room sized puzzle. I too get a bit swamped with it and have to dip out of things for a while. Nothing wrong with that, we all do it at our own pace.
I have been MIA for a while as busy with other things, but also knew the pink room was going to be hard to do, and if I did it with too much gusto I would just shove it all in the loft.
I have done bits gradually and have probably cleared half the room of stuff. Still 6 sets of drawers to go through, but will get there in time. It is looking more like a room, and managed to get an old sofa in there which asbo cat is loving. Did have a pile of single duvets to get rid of or sort out (all pretty new too but no single beds now), but cat has done a sit-in on them since. I think I will keep the two that are in bags (and not been covered in cat), leave one for asbo as she does love them, put ONE in the loft for when I get another dog as they are handy for drying on in the kitchen, and get rid of the rest to a charity (animal).
Lots of boots and shoes still to do, and other 'stuff'. If i'm keeping any of it I think I need to go round the house again looking at what I have kept and sorted so far and do a bit of tweaking....as I refuse to let this place get like the last. it's so much nicer having rooms that look more like rooms, and not having that utter panic of someone other than a good friend turn up.
It will be much easier to keep looking good when I have had some cupboards built etc, but that won't be until next year I don't think as want to live in it a bit to see what I fancy, also need to save up some dosh.
Hope everyone is well.
will pop back in with progress report when I have SLOWLY done some moreYep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0
