    They are no sings on any exit from the roundabout, the road is a dual carriageway, you may just have them here.
    Be happy...;)

    The road i was driving before i turned was Durham Road which is 40,the date was 5/3/13 and i received it on 15/3/13

    Looking at streetview, Durham Road is 30 in both directions at the junction with Springwell Road, which is why it does not need signs.

    It's actually illegal to have 30mph repeaters on a road like this (street lamps + built up area) as drivers are expected to know that such roads are 30 and using 30mph repeaters would undermine this. That's the theory anyway. You are only allowed to have them at the start of the new speed limit, e.g. at the exit of the 40mph road you left.

    If you have a video showing you passing a 40mph sign or repeater and then continuing on this road without ever passing a 30 sign then you have a defence, otherwise best to just bend over and take it. For 35 in a 30 you will probably get offered a speed awareness course which does not put points on your licence.

    Is it?.........

    Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002: Paragraph 4:

    The sign shown in diagram 670 (except when displayed on a variable message sign in the manner mentioned in regulation 58(7)(b)) shall not be placed along —

    (a)a road on which there is provided a system of carriageway lighting furnished by lamps lit by electricity placed not more than 183 metres apart in England and Wales or not more than 185 metres apart in Scotland and which is subject to a speed limit of 30mph;

    Diagram 670 is the traditional red circle speed limit / repeater sign.

    Looking at that it's a 30.

    How far apart are the lampposts?

    Where do you get dual passageways are a 50 from?

    If it were 50 there would be repeaters.

    What's the speed limit on a motorway? As that's a dual carriageway.
