Well, not without the word 'poor' loitering in close proximity. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
I'm always faintly amazed how much excitement cheap shite food joints like Greggs, Subway etc. generates on this site."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

I remember about eight or nine years ago when a Greggs opened near where I was working the prices were impressively low and most of the food on offer was fair, for the prices.
I haven't been in one for about six years and was surprised when I called in to the one near where I work now. The prices had gone up three fold or more, okay its been a few years but it seemed quite a jump, and the thing I ordered was a pale imitation of what it used to be. Service was still poor though so at least that was consistant.
That said they had recently expanded into a larger premises here in order to add indoor seating and there is always a long queue of school children and students when I pass at lunchtimes so they must being doing okay with the business, at least here anyway.0 -
I don't mind Greggs now and then but I am concerned about the salt content in some of their sandwiches- I know all makers add it but the Greggs levels seem excessive.
In my nearest shopping town an independent 99p shop moved next door to Poundland (and they've opened a cafe inside too where prices are you guessed it 99p). The rivalry has been very amusing. Poundland stock levels suddenly boom and fills the shop, some aisles redesigned and smartened up and 99p have put up some great signs in the window.
Never heard of either bakers this one operates under, wish we had one!0
