Glad to see Greggs having some competition with the new £1 Bakers opening.

Somebody was telling me that the person who owns the £1 bakery chain used to be a part owner of greggs, and his business plan is to open shops as close to greggs as he can get
Dunno how true it is, but it's a good story!

It's a northwest chain, also trades under the name Hampsons I believe. It is all Sayers products, I've seen the stuff being delivered.0

From WikipediaSayers is currently the biggest independent retail baker in the North West and currently has over 150 shops and 25 caf!s from Fleetwood in the north to Wrexham in the south, and Rhyl in the west to Halifax in the East.0

Why has nobody yet appeared to say that you should make your own pastie in the morning, using leftover polystyrene chips and carpet fluff, as that's the moneysaving thing to do?0

Wrights pies are the best I have ever tasted, shame they are so localised to Stoke and Crewe! They do a pretty mean sandwich too!
Yeah I live in Stoke and the occasional times we have pastry goods theirs are our preference. Greggs are OK for sausage rolls and coffee. We gave up on the £1 bakery after 2 trys, their stuff was completely tasteless.Out on blue six..
It's Chips and Jackets, Peas and Trousers.0 -
In my town centre there are two £1 bakery stores right next door to Greggs and Greggs are offering any 2 pasties or pies for 99p so I still use greggs as they are offering the same deal as the £1 bakery (I only go for the pasties so any other price hikes woundn't affect me)0

Iceland sell a good range of Gregg's poducts.

My nearest shopping centre needs one!! We only have either expensive food outlets or Mc D's and Greggs.
I think Greggs pasties have shrunk!! The sandwiches are either very expensive or look horrid (boiled egg and tomato baguette  )
Please can we have one??;)0 -
When I went to Yorkshire went in the pound bakery never tasted a pie so nice meat and potato so nice wish I had got 2.When I go next time going to have one every day they don't make pies like that down here was jealous of the shops up north wish we had them down here.We have gregs everywhere and I mean everywhere used to like gregs but has gone downhill sausage rolls are still nice though.0
