Lovely pictures, pigpen! You have beautiful children! How quickly they grow up... So sorry to hear about your ceiling: hope you get it sorted quickly and without too much expense.

I can vouch for the fact that it was light well before 6 o'clock this morning. DH woke me up by rolling over (it probably showed up on seismic records in Japan), saying "Good morning" and continuing to have a one-sided conversation with me until I was wide awake, then falling back into a deep sleep himself. When I finally managed to focus my eyes on the clock, it said 6:02. Having been up until well after midnight, I was not amused - I need at least 7 hours' sleep  He is still snoring his head off, while I have already decluttered one cup of tea and checked my emails and eB@y.

The reason I had stayed up so late was that I had a major breakthrough with my family history research. Finding a marriage in Westminster in the 1830s for my gt-gt-gt-grandfather John Smith has been difficult (to say the least), with a trail full of red herrings, three Marys in successive generations of the same family who all married twice, incomplete census returns and weird misspelling of surnames. Last summer I had set the problem aside as insoluble, but last night I decided to revisit that branch of the family, had a stroke of luck, and found the will of a man who has been a shadowy figure hiding behind my family tree: he turned out to be John Smith's father-in-law - John and his wife (the shadowy man's daughter) are named in the will, complete with address and occupation. This has decluttered all the odd ends, sorted my relatives into nice neat compartments and even given me a few more names to conjure with and another branch to follow down to the present day. I am a very happy bunny :D

As soon as DH has appeared from the depths of the duvet (I had set the alarm for 7.15, hee-hee!) and we've decluttered breakfast, I shall have to have a mad hour of flying and get this house in order, ready for another viewing. We have a beautiful clear blue sky and the sun is coming up, so every streak on the patio doors and kitchen windows is showing up a treat, and I can see that I shall have to break open another bottle of white vinegar to deal with them. The Famous Four have been dropping sunflower seed husks all over the patio, so that's a mess  Indoors is quite tidy, but my Dys0n started making nasty noises last week, and whilst I'm waiting for a new turbo head to be sent free under the guarantee :) I am having to use the hard floor head and of course it's less effective and much harder work to pick up all the little bits off the carpets

Plenty of (((hugs))), spoons and :coffee: on offer here today - please help yourselves. Hope everyone has a good day.

    Good morning :D

I have been sort of flying - well, flitting. I [STRIKE]cleared[/STRIKE] tidied a hotspot of paperwork in the LR (the side table) I still need to deal with it :( I did dust & polish the table before I put it all back :p A few other surfaces were dusted (with Miss T's help). I also cleaned the DR table (after the kids has eaten of course!)

The kitchen floor (well, half of it :o - mop ran out of water) was swept & mopped very quickly while DH & DS fetched the carpet remnant from the loft. For some reason the dog has rediscovered his fear of walking on laminate! He wouldn't even walk across it to eat his dinner! He had a big op last year (cruciate ligament) and he slipped about on the floor & got scared. We put away the carpet in September, and he has been fine. So I don't know why he is like this again. He is not limping :(

Toddler group this morning. We were supposed to be visiting the CAB this morning, but it is being rearranged. Still waiting for them to call us back.

Hugs, sticks & spoons to those in need

    morning all
going to try and stay on list today after using the whole day on the bookshelf yesterday. its a room i can easily shut the door on but it feels better knowing its tidier. Bonus is the big box of stuff ive managed to put aside for CS again
it was trying to snow when i first opened the curtains but luckily no sign of it now.
hope everyone is well - im just going to back read to catch up with you all then ill make a start
uhgs positive vibes and good wishes as and where needed
pigpen those photos are beautiful as are your girls, thank you for sharing them with us.
ionafan, brilliant breakthrough on the family tree.
i made a start on my DHs mil said she had been doing it years previously with her sister but not really got anywhere. (thats becasue they'd INVENTED 2 marriages!) with the help of a friend whos really into family history i got hold of a census form showing her mum as a single girl living with her mum and step dad and at the age of 17 shed already got a 2yo daughter (mils eldest sister) 10 years later two of her sister were living with grandmother and step grandfather but mils mum was nowhere to be found, when she finally married mils dad 8 children later she put herself down as widowed on the certificate using her step fathers surname as her maiden name and her maiden name as a married name. mil and 2 siblings have their fathers surname all the others except one have the maiden name and ive never found out why one had a totally different name. made contact with a cousin of Dh (who hed always been told was an aunt and she revealed DH had got an aunt still alive and well at the age of 90 living in the same town as us) when i asked mil if she was aware her sister was still living in the town she said oh i presumed she died in the 80s!!! They did meet up last year but sadly she has now passed on.
ive it a stumbling block with my side as ive found who i think is my great gran on a census at 9months old and been following that track but one of my aunts is adamant it cant possibly be right as the year of birth is out by 2 years thing is the siblings names all mtch up as do the area she was born in. if im right ive also found her mum in service as a young woman, but ive stopped for now as im not sure if my path is the right one. it really is a facinating hobby isnt it.

I love the kissy pic... it did take a while to calm them both down after they crashed heads the first time getting enthusiastic lol. Would you believe that little blue eyed thing is the naughtiest nocturnal child ever!? Definitely a 'nemesis and evil henchman' thing going on with these 2.

    DW on.. filled with pans!

Just waiting for Mr T delivery (I hope he doesnt bring snickers!) I then need to get DD3 some new knickers she has got too big for all hers.

I need to pack for OH's mums at the weekend.. though I may not be very welcome after the first 10 minutes.. lol.. While doing that I am emptying cupboard tops in Squeaks room so I can make a start on the decorating.. I need to post 2 parcels too..

OH is going to be set to reloading the DW when it has finished and sorting out the boot of the cars which is full of all sorts of delights.
