  • Morning all :) Day off placement today and no uni work to do so having a really productive day (house got way too messy when I was doing an assignment/working last week!). Had to deice the car to take OH to the train station but its lovely and bright now so done one load of washing which is hung on the line.

So far I have - hoovered upstairs carpets, sweeped & cleaned downstairs wooden floors and kitchen floor, two loads of washing (second spinning as I type), cleaned up the kitchen and packed leftovers for OH's packed lunch tomorrow, put our recycling in the outside boxes, got items for tea from the freezer (in the shed so counts as a job ;) ), organised misc items that were dumped on the book shelf ... and sat down to have some porridge and a cup of tea :D

    Jobs left to do :
    - hang next lot of washing out to dry
    - empty and deep clean cat litter box
    - make our bed and get rid of clutter/dumped items from our bedroom
    - take bag of cleared out items to charity shop
    - shred letters & old documents
    - clean bathroom

& then watch Revenge with a cuppa and cake! Hope everyone else is having a nice day, and its nice and bright where you are :)

I'd be in except my kitchen ceiling caved in last night so I have a house full of devastation to deal with and a vacuum cleaner feeling neglected!!

I'd say it never rains in here but it does.. ceiling and bath water!

Been away visiting the rellies in M/cr this weekend and then drove 2 hours straight back into work last night and it has caught up with me, so I'm just about to watch Nigella Express for the next hour and then think about having a productive afternoon flying. I'm forever busying myself and seem to have a permanent "to do" list, so OH is congratulating me that I'm actually having some "ME" time. How decadent am I?

Pigpen, hope you get everything sorted soon and its not too expensive to repair

Bossy just back read so sorry to hear about the tax thats been taken- makes you wonder why you bother sometimes doesnt it, virtual hugs to you that it gets sorted soon and you arent out of pocket or working for the government instead of yourself.

ive just decided to move a book case but it was too heavy so i emptied it, [STRIKE]neat little [/STRIKE]huge great precariously balanced piles that just as i turned round to shunt the bookcase along the required 4 inches toppled domino style all over each other :mad:
im thinking ill need the rest of the day to get te room back to looking half of what it was:(

:eek: Sending ceiling get well (mended) vibes.

Glad it's the kitchen today. After a week of not cooking I went a bit nuts yesterday so a clear up is needed. At least it means half the week's meals are already sorted.

    Have a great week everyone.

Wow! Pigpen. I hope the clear up and repairs don't take too long.

I'm blitzing the place today. The microwave has been turned on its head and I have at last managed to get rid of the curry smell from it that has been making me feel more than a tad ick for the last 24 hours. Portuguese lodgers and curry don't mix well, but by goodness, they do mix.

The WM will have at least 3 loads run through it today, the DW had a run and both of them will be run empty later. Dusting is occurring.
    Better is good enough.

OMG piggers! I take it no-one was hurt? Oh what a nightmare! I hope the insurance covers it / and they sort it quickly. Where do you even begin when something like that happens???

My whinge is not so desperate, it was a bonus, after all, which was earmarked for our holiday, which is due in installments anyway so it may be sorted by the time the final one is due... Lets face it, I wouldn't be earning any interest on it!!!

As such I have been having a small financial sort whilst waiting for paid stuff to upload, and getting a grip on what the new tax year will look like  expect tax credits will go down although from September my nursery fees should drop a fair whack too... I guess the dilemma now is do I tell tax credits the average for the year, or stay at what they are now, and call again in September to change. I suppose it only means we'll get more now and less later, rather than it being a level amount. Ho hum.

Right, I shal fram myself and go put the washer on whilst this oh-so-slow pc gets its act together!

Front room, hall and stairs vacuumed
    WM x3
    TD x1
binbag filled from middle room.. and toys mostly picked up.

On break number 3 now.. this room is such a mess and DD1 is coming round with Samuel so the floor has to be cleared, I am just really struggling and OH was watching (now banished to shop)

Oh gosh no, noone was hurt it is just really dirty and messy .. My uncle is coming to look at it later I'm not going through insurance it will bump up my premiums by about £800 over the next 5 years and there is a £200 excess so it isn't worth it. More will need to come down before it can be made nice again.. and then painting ... it is just irritating.
