  • I've got to ask - what is a Tilly-Tidy :o

Hope you have a good day Thistle :)
    Hi Thrifty,

Tilly is the one to explain - I couldn't possibly steal her thunder!!!

Thistle I was so hoping you would save my embarrassment :o

Morning Thrifty, I'm Tilly, a rather mad woman who is trying to clear a mahoosive mortgage by the end of December 2015. To achieve this I look for any ways to make an OP.

This led me to OP any pennies in my bank accounts. If I have any pennies at all when I go on line and check, then over they go.

I can't remember who called them Tilly Tidies but it's stuck and a few people are doing the same.

Bear in mind your mortgage statement is longer but I'm not worried about that. I just want the mortgage gone ASAP.

    Best wishes Tilly x

A FEW people? Half the country m'dear :D. I'm sure I heard George Osbourne he'd just done a Tilly Tidy of 3.3 million and it had knocked 1 day off our debt free date ;). Now 1st December 2186
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

You shouldn't be embarrassed Tilly, it's a great idea.

Thrifty, I do what Tilly does - eg when a payment goes out for, say £36.42, I'll Tilly Tidy the 58p to make it a round £. I transfer it to my eSavings A/c and a the end of the month, I pay the balance across to my credit cards or mortgage.

Sometimes I may do a TillyTidy Deluxe and Tilly Tidy £3.58 to round it to the nearest £5 - it depends how flush I'm feeling!:rotfl:

It's going to be a long day today but by the end of it I'll have earned myself an extra £60 to fling at my CC debt. I'm still about £285 short of paying my OP goal for April so it'll be very handy!!

    Have a good day everybody!

I have just joined Fairyclicks challenge to try to squeeze another £1 a day op on our mortgage, so Tilly-tidies will certainly help with this. Spent last night trying to come up with ideas - challenging when everything is a tight as a tight-thing can be :p

  • Goodness Thistle, you're really stepping it up with the deluxe TTs. I'll have to check my accounts again.

Mr T made me laugh last night, he said he was only going to buy things in round numbers so I would have nothing to TT - the very thought of it :o
