  • Hi Thistle, glad they paid up - nothing worse than people owing you money and delaying paying up :)

Tee hee, not as glad as I am Tilly!!:rotfl:
Anyway, there was no doubt that they would. They are very good friends of ours.

It's OH's birthday today, bless him, and we're sat up in bed drinking Yorkshire tea and opening presents. So far he's got his body weight in chocolate and a very nice garment which I bought him in Rome which he really wanted but said he couldn't afford to buy. So I bought it for his birthday. He's so excited!! It's so funny because he's 38:rotfl:

Watching him makes me realise that although money is important and clearing off my debts is important, I'm currently immersed in stuff money can't buy. Quite sobering really!!

A happy and "if it can't be prosperous, at least let it not be impecunious" day to all my MSE friends.

Off to ring the bells of Wigan Parish Church today so if you're in the town centre from 1pm you'll hear our efforts!! It's £10 a rope (which is quite pricey, but worth it because the bells are very fine!).

OH is fed up today. He's so busy and is going to London tomorrow for three days and doesn't want to go.

I've got som much work to do as I took yesterday off because it was his birthday, so I'll be glad he's away so I can catchup!!! Lol!

    MoneySaving stuff today:
Paid £630 off the CC being the money my friends owed from Rome. I've got £782 collected in my OP account ready to be paid over when the statements arrive.

    Happy Sunday to all!

Just used the mortgage op calculator to work out the OPs I'd need to make to be MF by my 50th birthday. It is quite nice actually, because paying off £1000 a month will achieve this.

I've increased my payments up from £461.38 up to a round £500 so if I can find a further £500 a month, I'll be there.

That's given me a massive incentive to clear these CCs and get cracking.
Ill be MF by 12/2021 which will be 20 years sooner than currently.

£1000 per month, (£500 per month standard payment with OPs of £500) saving 20 years, and MF by my 50th - all these round numbers appeal to me!!

    It's a sign!!

Enjoy your Sunday Thistle and hopefully OH will have an ok time in London.

The bell ringing sounds fantastic - if I was anywhere near you I'd pop along.
