            Hello from Rome!
Well our trip is going really well. We've practically walked our legs off these last two days but the photographs we've taken will remind us if a great trip.
Rome is SO expensive. Lunch today was £92 for four people and the portions were pitiful. To top it off, the waiter tried to diddle us with his appalling addition but Thistle had his MSE head on and pointed out his folly!!! Then we paid €10 for two ice creams!!! We were fiddled there too. We only got two scoops instead of three. Man snatched the note out if my hand and didn't even say thank you! Thistle was NOT impressed.
Churches and fountains are beautiful. Could and did spend hours just walking round. Visited the Scavi today and saw St. Peter's tomb. Then a wk round the basilica. Awesome.
Anyway, enough for now. Free minibar calling!!!
Off to Assisi tomorrow for two days.

Only just found this diary and read it all and subscribed. You are doing very well at debt busting.
I have the Santander 123 and have been with them for the last 4 years and never had problems with them.I have only had the 123 account for a few months but am very happy with the cashback and interest.
Hope you have a fab time in Rome x0

            Hi QB, Calfuray & Taxi,
We were going to the Sistine Chapel this morning but the queue was huge and I wasn't paying some robbing ticket tout €40 for his "Beat the Queue" ticket. We shall go on Monday afternoon for €16.
Travelled by train to Assisi today through some lovely countryside. If you thought Rome was fantastic, Assisi is just something else. Such a personal place even though its teeming with visitors. Going to sung Mass at San Francesco Basilica tomorrow. Can't wait. Hope they have lots of incense. Love tons of smoke!!!
Two days here then back to Rome on Monday.
This trip is costing and arm and a leg but I'll worry about it when we get home.
 Until then......happy holidays!!

Have to admit we found Rome very expensive as well ... I remember refusing to pay the prices one day so ate ritz crackers for my dinner lol
Wasn't very impressed with the food either tbh ... Think the tastiest meal was the crackers if I remember right
Glad your having fun hope you continue to have fun 0 0

The portions are really small too. When I have pasta at home, I have tonnes!!
It's hard to have a relaxing evening out with friends here because 8 bites and dinner is finished!!:rotfl:Mortgage at end 05/2007: £90200
