Road tax for disabled?

Well if we're going down the "choose who you believe" route then I should point out that I actually work for DLA.

It is correct that you can tax the chair from your armchair......via the internet or by phone. Your earlier post leads people to believe that they can use the VED once to obtain the tax disc and then DVLA will automatically send them a new tax disc every twelve months. THIS IS NOT CORRECT! Whether you are paying for a tax disc, or getting one free, you will still receive the standard DVLA notification that your tax is due to expire....and you will still need to apply in the normal way.

    - I am, you posted inside my # number
    - you started it with your aggressive CAPS and INCORRECT which you continue
    - you may work for the DVLA or NASA
    - but its clear you have never applied in your life
    - or you wouldn't post garbage information to the disabled
See #12 - if you mean a reminder from the DVLA that your tax disk is about to run out, yes you should have received a V11 form

Yes that's precisely what I said in #12, quoted above. Read the thread and try to be less confrontational.

Oh dear.....you really have turned this around haven't you. I was merely giving correct advice based on what I know. You are jumping to conclusions that I have never applied for disability exempt road tax.....for all you know I may be unable to walk.

Anyway, people on this forum can of course choose to follow either your advice or mine.

    Have a nice evening :o)

for all you know I may be unable to walk
    I work for the DVLA
I shout with capitals and say INCORRECT a lot

    - all the three above may or may not be correct
    - what the disabled need to know is have you applied online yourself, and do you actually have a clue how it works?

Ziggazee, you've been on these boards a number of years, if you post an opinion in your own # number its an opinion, if you post an aggressive CAPS rebuttal using the word INCORRECT directly in someone else's # number its an aggressive and now personal act directed at the # owners opinion.
people on this forum can of course choose to follow either your advice or mine

    - yes, agreed, I already said that too in an earlier # in this very thread

As I too work for DLA, I would just like to point out that the poster named Ziggazee is entirely correct regards the obtaining of road tax.
Thats all really. I didn't want people to follow the incorrect information given by the other poster and end up waiting for a tax disc that will never arrive.
I'm happy to help with any DLA queries, though to be honest, Ziggazee seems to know his/her stuff. (-:

DLA? So you actually work for the DWP who administer DLA?

    Or do you mean DVLA?

Thanks Richis, I will ring for a new cert. and I will look after the new one.

My cars got its MOT last month and the insurance will be done on line 28 days or so before the tax is due so they should be uploaded by thetime I need my tax disc.

    - you do that, it will be fine
    - the days of unnecessary standing in queues is over and was years ago

    NOTE01 : I've looked through the back threads :

    - it seems 'Ziggazee' was giving her opinion to 'Horseunderwater' in a different thread
    - 'Horseunderwater' came to this thread and was [stalked] pursued by 'Ziggazee' who then picked a fight with me
    - 'Ziggazee' then [a guess] miraculously opened a~n~other account at 11:18 AM pretending to be 'Whity1' re-stating the 'Ziggazee' mantra

NOTE02 : The old forms were (1) time limited and (2) changes limited and always inconvenient as they always seemed to either have no space left for a (2) change of car, or had run out (1) just at the very point where you needed it.

The new 2011 'Certificate of Entitlement to DLA' is a 're-useable certificate' that lasts as long as your entitlement whether that's 4 or 40 years and is a convenient to every one online version with a diret link to the re-taxing of VED's - use it it make your life much much easier.

Weird, as mine that ran out 2005 i used last week, online.
I wonder if the serial number stays with the person?

Have you have old and new one you can check to see if that is the case?

    - absolutely - 100%, I imagine and for obvious reasons
    - its worth up to £300pa forever and ever for any holder
    - it will cease at any point the DWP cancel the 'enabling' entitlement
    - that's one reason people should be careful not to 'lose' the paper more than once - it looks suss
    - the old and any new paper CofEDLA issued the number and the name will be linked to the same individual person / DOB / NI etc

One more time - everyone should get up to speed and get a new 2011 style 'Certificate of Entitlement' from the telephone number I gave.
