    Good morning!

Weather not so good here either. Getting quite dark out there.

Plan to make some shortcakes and flapjacks today. Have some pastry left over from the pies yesterday, so will do a jam tart. Will make a tray of muffins to cook alongside the tart.

Have the weekly shop to do later. I think I have most of the list done now. Just a few more things to put on it.

Everyone have a good and proserous day.

    Hugs all round.
  • Hi All,
Well it's a wet and windy morning in Yorkshire today. Am so glad it's Friday this week seems to have lasted forever.
Am at work all day today and then going for something to eat and to the cinema with a friend. OH is having a friend over too so they will be having a few beers by the sound of it - none for me now :j
Will leave OH a pizza for him and his friend to eat. I want to get back into cooking and not eat out so much now I have a little bean growing inside me.

    Morning all.

As you all say - hooray for friday!!

Have no plans this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to recharge a bit. Last weekend we had loads of visitors and I managed to have a stinking cold. So although I felt like death I had to entertain and cater and generally pretend I didn't want to crawl under the duvet and never come out.

Next time I get married I'm going to be the husband!!

Getting all set for DS birthday next week. He'll be 5!! How on earth did that happen?

We're supposed to be taking him to london, but when I filled in the request form from school for him to have friday off I noticed a note that said "if your request is for a date within a month then it will be refused" . What on earth will I do if they refuse? I'm beginning to wish I'd just kept quiet and pretended he was ill. They can't refuse one day can they? He's only in reception - and it's educational! Well. We'll just have to wait and see.

Take care -- I must clean this house! And sort out what's for dinner.

    Morning all :D

Well managed to get not much done again last night as I was shattered, but considering I've been working every day and evening I thought I deserved a night off.

Thanks for the kind wishes yesterday, I knew it was going on the market I think it's just the shock of seeing it you know  Anyway I think what someone said was right, I hope the new owners look after it and get as much fun, laughter and memories out of it as we've all got.

So plan of action for the weekend is more studying! Only 7 days to go and then I'm a free woman and I can get my life back. I can't wait and already I am pulling together a to do list.:T

Right enough of my waffling, back to it. Hope everyone else is keeping OK and as usual take or leave the :grouphug: as needed.

    Morning all.

Raining quite heavily here in the North West :(
Have got to wait in this morning for Oh's laptop to be collected to go for repair. It arrived back on Tuesday having been away for 3 weeks, they had replaced the screen (not the original fault) and don't appear to have done anything about the fact it won't charge from the mains.

Oh well, at least mine's working ok (touch wood).

Off to roust DD, we need to set off before 8.

Have a good day folks, no doubt I'll be popping in later.

    Morning everyone

Was woken early by torrential rain so gave in and got up. At least I am a bit ahead of myself today - but I have a banging headache so I suspect that I will slow down as the morning progresses.

Soooooo glad its Friday. I just feel so tired at the mo. Not sure whether I am just run down or there is more to it.

((((hugs)))) to those who need/want one.

Went to Morrisons yesterday for some essentials. They were selling super roaster chickens for £3.99 so I got one. OK not an essential but its so big that I will get quite a few meals and lunches from it. :j So dinner tonight will be roast chicken, mash and lots of veg and tomorrow's will be spicy hm fajitas.

Off to have brekkie now. Already had some hm fruit salad and made enough for lunch too. :j Toast and boiled egg I think.

Have a fantastic Friday and good luck to the mini OSERs who have the last couple of exams today. xx

Morning all! It has rained all night here but is lovely at the moment, although the forecast is for rain this afternoon. Hope it doesn’t because I’ve got sheets and towels to dry today. For anyone looking for a good weather forecaster Met Check.com is really good – I find it the most reliable one. Like all good things, it was recommended on another MSE thread!:T :T

DH has just left for work – he’s been dithering all week and going in at all different times –oh, the joy of having a self-employed husband!  Drives me mad most of the time because I end up planning my day around him and, more often than not, my plans go out of the window. I’ve made him up a huge packed lunch so he’s no need to just ‘pop back in’. I told him not to come back ‘til dinner time!
Anyway, WM on it’s first of three loads; have cakes to make – since I’ve been baking every we don’t want shop-bought cakes any more especially when DH worked out the cost of the chocolate mini-rolls the last time we bought them! He also ‘went off on one’ the last time we bought Viscount biscuits because of the amount of packaging they used.  They designed the pack of seven so that it looked as if it contained a lot more; when we took them out we realised they could have used half the packaging. If we are going to start being charged for the amount of rubbish we throw out, I think the manufacturers should get their act together first! Anyway, he wants me to write to them and I’ll try and get that done today.
MRS MIX – hope your DH does something to deserve his presents! I don’t know what he said to upset you but we all know just how tactless they can be.:A :A
CRAZYCHIK – had four items listed and sold three on eBay yesterday! Last time it was six out of eight so that’s not bad, is it?! :j :j Mind you, one of them still has to pay! Packed them up one by one as they sold following your suggestion, and did not get into a muddle this time! Will list another four today and four on Sunday. Will try and do my T&Cs today.
Have you heard from your dad, yet? I hope so.:A :A
ESEX-GIRL - hope your back gets better. Mine plays up – I slipped a disc about ten years ago and it was so painful; I dread it happening again because I just had to lie on the floor for four days and it was so boring!
CATOWEN – Good luck with the blood test!
Well, this won’t get anything done, will it, sitting on here? I must clear up the breakfast things, make the cakes – two different flavour yoghurt cakes ‘cos they’re easy to do – and get cracking on giving the house a dust and polish. I need to post two eBay parcels, get my fruit and veg from the farm shop and my meat from the butcher (after I’ve looked through the freezer first). Cheese and tomato sandwich for lunch and stew from the freezer for dinner with the rest of yesterday’s HM bread. Don’t know what’s for pudding yet – probably be bananas and yoghurt with honey – easy!
Have just seen the first housemartin round here – they’re on time so I don’t know what the fuss is about ‘climate change’. The cuckoo was on time last week as well and I’d have thought birds would have been a good guide to ‘global warming’!
Anyway, must go – will pop back later. (((hugs))) to all who have posted and will post, who are unwell or recovering, who are feeling down, who have been going through SATS and anything else not covered by that list!

PEEM - I would tell the school that your trip is to London and that you planned it to be educational - they couldn't refuse that, surely? One day away from reception to spend the day in London will be well worth it for your LO! The place is teaming with history and museums! I also think the time limit on asking for days off is a bit tight; lots of trips are planned at short notice depending on funds and time off work for parents, aren't they? Good luck!
