Agree Toxeth. My point being that the cheapo one probably isn't as well labelled as well as any potential lower quality.
I bet a lot of people would buy something for £5 that said HDMI v1.2 vs one that wasn't labelled at all, whereas they should now be looking for v1.4a (if they must have the latest standard).
In your example of standard HDMI vs high speed HDMI - that kindof proves my point - there's no such think as high speed SCART is there?! People won't be looking for 'high speed' HDMI for their PS3, they'll expect any cable to manage it. I know I have one that causes jumping.

We're kind of agreeing and I'm just adding more clarification.

For a fixed 1m installation (e.g Sky box to AV amp or TV) I buy the cheapest High Speed HDMI cable I can that is compliant with the HDMI specification (and for that it has to be correctly labeled as per the specification}. They work perfectly on my £8k home theatre. Connect once and forget. I never pay more than a couple of quid.

For my portable devices I invest a bit more (say £5) for a more ruggedly constructed cable that is frequently connected/disconnected.

btw - the HDMI specification standard for labeling cables has changed; they are only 'Standard HDMI', 'High Speed HDMI' or those two 'with Ethernet.' The version numbers (1.2, 1.3, 1.4 etc) are no longer allowed on cables and can only be used for interface components.
People won't be looking for 'high speed' HDMI for their PS3, they'll expect any cable to manage it.

There is a degree of knowledge needed by the consumer or honesty from sellers and lack of either allows consumers to easily end up with the wrong product. Particularly with the 'snake oil' techniques used in selling rip-off HDMI cables

You wouldn't try to use Cat 3 on Gigabit LAN or use 802.11b wifi with an 80 Mbps FTTC connection. Unfortunately people do. The difference here is that if you wanted a 1 m Cat 5e patch cable to connect your home network components it's extremely unlikely that you'd be offered an 80 quid one made by Monster on the basis that it will give you a better whatever.

After being contacted by an Admin, due to an inoffensive post I made, I would like it made clear, if admin find me offensive, to the use of over excessive border or Sig signatures.

Large sigs use up large bandwidth, there is no need, and they cause problems reading the thread. Why use them?

    Most forums have banned them, apart from chavvy car websites, as they detract from the content;

And some have an advertising aspect to them, so ban them admin.

    User choice.

It's also entirely up to you whether or not you view them.

Just got to the User CP / Edit Otions scroll down to Thread Display Options and choose which elements you want to see.

RUBBISH! Don't listen to him Toxeth!
Do you have a source for that Arnie? Is it Engadget? If so, have another read. Nothing has been announced and you're reporting rumours as fact.

Since you have done everything you can to resolve the issue from week 2, I think it's time you sent a letter threatening court action if they do not refund your money.
Unfortunately Samsung are not very good quality televisions. They look good though, that's why people buy them. When you get your money back, invest in Sony or Panasonic.
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, then perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away. thoreau
