I haven't continued to respond. I placed nannytone on ignore last night following your comments. Not because it gets on my nerves, as it doesn't, but because it detracts from threads and nannytone makes a good enough job of making the threads about her as it is.
I haven't read lots of threads and don't know what nannytone has been asked before now. My suggestions were made in good faith but, I have now placed nannytone on ignore so I will not be part of the cause of derailing threads for other people.
Have a read of the PIP/DLA thread in DT, you posted in that one too, offering suggestions and she pretty much explained herself there too so I dont see how you dont what she has been asked before when you we actually responding in that thread? Anyways thats just how I see it im sure you'll see it differently but im not gonna carry on about it now, you have her on your ignore list now which I think is a goo idea, think a few others may benefit from doing that too.0

it didnt happen for some other benefit changes either like when my IVB was frozen because I got a age allowance, Ive lost @£30 per week so far and it didnt get a mention.
Sunnyone I can understand that you must feel upset about this I wasn't here then but I certainly would have been shouting about it and the cuts across the board to LHA.
I hope you don't mind me asking this but if you are on benefits why do you have to pay privately for your care? This is also a postcode lottery because our authority has gone for benefit charging only for care, so income/savings are not taken into account. 1/2 DLA and SDP are automatically taken as charges and AA.The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0

I'm not saying I have never discussed anything with nannytone before, what I'm saying is, I don't know everything about nannytone.
For instance, I'm aware that nannytone doesn't appreciate any useful advice about how to make it easier distinguishing between a shampoo and conditioner bottle. I know nannytone doesn't want to take in a lodger and can't move house for various reasons - which I can understand.
I had no idea her daughter diesn't drive. No idea what hours her son-in-law works and so was making a perfectly acceptable comment.
I don't make notes on everyone so do not know everything about a person, however the ignore function will mean I am not responsible for derailing any threads as people have expressed how annoying it is.Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0

Well I don't think you were responsible for derailing the thread at all. I take at least a percentage of the blame and Nanny as well!! It was a joint effort and many others then jumped on the bandwagon!! I think the point is, every thread that nanny posts on gets turned into the same thing. Just look at all the threads on bedroom tax... All the same... Pretty sure she must get frustrated with reading the same thing over and over again, as well as having to type it over and over again.
People seem to get personal with her. And I've been on the receiving end of some of this in the past too
And the end of the day, disabled people turning on each other because one gets more than the other is pretty sad. United we stand and all that 4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

By the same token, every thread about the decrease in benefits for extra bedrooms and CT, Nannytone states the same thing time and time again.Smile, you are beautiful:)0

And the same people continue to wind her up.
So clearly it is a stale mate situation. The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0

I am not upset that my benefit was cut, it is just one of those things.
Benefits are not static and they can be cut at any time, life goes on.
I have to pay my carers because we made provisions for ourselves by taking out pensions etc. which we claimed early due to our severe disabilities so we fail the financial assessment every year, I am assessed anually and the statement last year showed I need 35 hours of help which we would have to pay for ourselves at a rate much higher than we pay presently and our way we also have full control of the carers we pay for.0

Thanks for the reply Sunnyone I don't believe in postcode lotteries and think there should be a nationally agreed system for care costs which takes account of all factors and needs careful thinking about and open debate. Despite the report into it, it seems to being ignored on the whole as a very big national issue. If you didn't have to pay care costs. You would still as you know have control of the carers by DP which I agree is a very important thing indeed.
I admire your planning in it.
Although for many you can't plan for some situations like having a severely disabled child and everyones ability to do this for all sorts of reasons can be restricted. The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0

I agree that the rates set out by social services can be much higher than you would arrange yourself - for example, here the allowance, which they give for night time care is around £36 per hour but other agencies offer night-time care at a cheaper rate so if you don't qualify for direct payments, it is cheaper to organise things yourself.
Direct payments do give you a lot of control with regards the carers you pay for though. I couldn't pay someone who lives with me, except in exceptional circumstances, which they would have to agree to, but no idea what those exceptional circumstances would be, but I can choose who meets my care needs. There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story.
