Ikea or Argos

think there is a phylis tuckwell nearby, which i'll check out.
I'm after quite modern style, nothing to fancy as I like to accesorise.
I often get bored of a style so i tend to keep the basics simple then change my accesories.
saw a lovely lime green wardrobe (i know not to everyone elses taste) but I know after 6 months or so i'll be bored of it. So if I buy simple white I can jazz it up.0 -
ikea is much better in my opinion, things ive bought from argos haven't lasted'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

Ikea all the way. Basic stuff is waaaay better than Argos/Homebase, though a bit further up the scale there aint much difference. The only problem with Ikea is if you have bits missing, in which case you may have to return and get sent to customer services:eek:. I have lost whole days in there.
The Ikea gear I bought when I first bought my first flat nearly 20 years ago is mostly still in it (I rent it now). The Argos gear went in a skip years ago.0 -
Another 'I love Ikea' here too

I have assembled stuff from both IKEA and ARGOS and I can tell you from personal experience that IKEA stuff is far superior both in quality and design. Especially their wardrobes.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Another vote for Ikea, but if you're just setting upon your own for the first time and you're on a budget why not see what you can get for nothing first from Freecycle. Then you can move up bit by bit as you can afford better. Even then charity shops may get you better quality at less cost.
There's a thread on here about what's chique.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I'd strongly recommend against Argos. Whenever we have bought furniture there, we've found it to be very poor quality.
Ikea on the other hand, we've found to be really good.
Do Ikea home deliver in your area (or new area)? Could be worth checking. They also give discounts if you sign up to Ikea family, which is free.0 -

Completely agree with "27col". Have assembled plenty of flat packs from both Ikea and Argos, and Ikea wins everytime for me.0 -
