Ikea or Argos

Hiya,
I'm moving home soon and need to invest in some fairly cheap and inexpensive furniture.
Its only a few pieces as we have most things. (tv stand, bookcase, side table etc).
My local option is Argos however as we will hire a van I could drive to IKEA, but I'm wondering if its worth it?
Is Ikea better than Argos or vice versa?

Find what you like and in either case get them to deliver it.

I'm looking to find out what the quality is like?0

I would stick with Argos, as it is closer.
You don't want to get home from Ikea and find something wrong with an item.
At least you could take something back to Argos.0 -
I'd also rather collect as I'd like to get it all done on one day.0

Oh right - the third part of your post read as though the question was about there it was worth hiring a van and driving to Ikea. You don't need a van to go and look though surely. If you have a Homebase near you you'll find that their furniture is identical to the Argos stuff and if you order via Homebase it will be delivered in an Argos truck.CharlieRabbit01 wrote: »I'm looking to find out what the quality is like?
Can't comment on the quality though - sorry.

Personally, I would say that Ikea is better quality/better VFM than Argos.
I have a Billy bookshelf that is probably 20 years old, and you would never know.0 -

sorry about that. I'll be hiring a van to move any way.
My fault for not explaining more clearly.
Yeah Argos and Homebase are part of the home retail group.0 -

that sounds pretty good, the bottoms dropped out of my argos chest of drawers after 6 months.0 -
Ikea stuff is way better - I'm enough of a mug to have bought a couple of things from Argos.0
