  • Hello

I have a event to go to next week and I although i have been dieting etc (lost about 10 pounds in preparation) i am stuffed into the dresses that I have for this.

I have about 10 dresses to chose from but in all of them, althought they zip (in some of them only just after some help :o) I will not be able to do any sudden movements!!!

Can anyone advise any exercises, diet advise - foods to eat, ones to avoid so that I could possible lose about half any inch of my spare tyres (problem area is bust to below belly button I a size 12/14 but closer to 14).

I don't mind embarking on a ridiculous quick fix diet/plan (eg only losing water weight to be gained by next sunday) as it will only be for the next 7 days as long as it works as a quick fix until the event is over then I'll go back to my sensible controled diet with exercise.

Don't have loads of time to put in hours exercising (work full time young family etc) but if there are things I should be doing please advise.

    Thanks in advance

    These exercises should help:

    http://just-for-mom.slides.kaboose.com/242-10-minute-routine-abdominal-toning-exercises

Try to do them twice a day or more if you can.

Wear a belt a bit too tight will also help tone things up a bit.

Avoid fizzy drinks is the obvious tip.

Other than that have you any of the control underwear you can wear under your dress?
  • Avoid bread and pasta for the next week (cut down on carbs in general) and especially the day before the event! And drink LOADS of water - helps prevent water retention. I would recommend plank excercises and sit-up/crunches - you should see some improvement in a week if you can manage to do them daily. Good Luck!

Rachel Green, I agree with Nicky Noo Na, cut out the carbs and the weight will fall off in the first week.

Only 1 hour walking to add to the challenge as I had a fall and injured my knee midweek. Have been resting it and taking Brufen and it is feeling much better so hoping to get back to spinning tomorrow. Will take it easy and see how it goes.

Food shopping done today and made a much more conscious effort not to buy anything processed. I thought I already ate quite 'clean' but reading the labels on food that I usually eat regularly, (ham, salami and bacon) you realise how processed they really are! Made a few substitutions which hopefully will make my diet a bit healthier - we will see ;)

Knee held up for a session in the gym and a short swim so another 1 hour to add to the challenge please Fred.
  • Updates on the exercise front for me;

Thurs - 15 mins of sit-up/press-ups/mat work in the morning (out in the evening)
Fri - Nowt! (Rest day/lazy day)
Sat - 6 MILE!! run, took 1 hour and 1 minute, need to try again and beat that by at least a minute now! (my legs really hurt after it though - bit too much of a step-up from the 4 milers but hoping my fitness will increase again soon) + warm-up/cool down/stretches = 1.5 hours and 1 hour of emptying the kitchen (lots of carrying/bending/stretching).
Sun - whole day of emptying the kitchen/batch cooking/cleaning - back was hurting after that! Going to count 3 hours.
Mon - 4 mile run + stretches = 1 hours plus 15 mins of mat work

So 7 hours in total to add so far - will try and sneak in another run on wed.

Despite all the activity the scales are not being kind to me - hope its all muscle, lol (either that or cake!)

Fred can you put me down for 12 hours 40 exercise over last week :) please

been doing loads in the garden , plus walking and couple of swimming sessions

Won't be on tomorrow as its my birthday - planning on running around a huge indoor play centre with the kids for an hour or 2 (before ruining it by scoffing pizza lol )- will add the exercise bit of the day into next week

good luck to all who are weighing in!
