Thanks Fred. Please put me down for the 5lb challenge as usual (even though I'm getting disheartened by constantly being unsuccessful!).

I meant to say welcome back to Perla*Mearle and jess444 *waves*

And also welcome to Rumblytum... what an appropriate username :rotfl: Your height and weight stats are exactly the same as mine are currently [EDIT: well, they were before I saw your latest post! :o]. I wish I was starting at that though, then I'd have surpassed my target by now! I was over 15 stone when I signed up here

I'm going to set myself a mini target to try and log all my food and drink for a week, which I used to always do, but don't bother now (I tell myself I don't need to, because I've developed good habits, lol). But I've been basically plateau-ing for the past two or three weeks, so hopefully it'll help me get back on track. It's just laziness, because I eat out so much (usually about four times a week ), and I can't be bothered to work out the calories. But just the thought of strict tracking enabled me to resist a 112 calorie biscuit on my tea break this morning, lol.

    Hi Svenena

Wow, you've lost loads of weight already - well done!!! :T

Do you find recording it all makes a difference? I know I've read that it is supposed to help, but I've never been disciplined enough to do it. I cook from scratch a lot, and it's a bit of a faff putting all the individual ingredients in. However, my weight will make me persevere :o

I entered yesterday's food and exercise on My Fitness Pal, and the calories are 2072 on there, which is more as I would have expected, and 211 burnt on exercise - so everything is obviously calculated differently. I think I will try MyFitnessPal for a while and see how I get on.

If anyone else uses it and wants to buddy up, let me know, as there seems to be a way of connecting on there.

Weight: STS 2 x birthday meals so not surprising.
    [/Callanetics: 2 hrs
    Ballroom: 3hrs
    Fitbit Steps; 12,000 = 6 miles
    COLOR]

Climbed Roseberry Topping, a small hill in the Yorkshire Dales, on Thursday. Really encouraged by this personal achievement.

Jess444 I really love my fitbit flex. Its really encouraging to see the daily goals turn green when you have achieved them (not very often). I use it in conjunction with MyFitnessPal. It tells me when I have had too many calories or need to do extra exercise to counterbalance the calories taken in. My friend has a jawbone and I looked at those but they were incompatible with my phone and more expensive. The fitbit flex also tracks your sleep which I also find very helpful.

Fred, please can you put me down for the Blackpool Tower challenge and on the Away Team(seeing as I will be away on holiday next month  )

I'm going on holiday next Saturday so I will WI on Friday instead.

Hi, been meaning to say "thanks" for the "good vibes" Pearla*Merle and also for the message from fredsnail. In my last post, I was trying to express how everyday problems mounting up appear to make the whole area of diet and exercise (for me) less easy to manage. This would seem apparent of the week so far. Anyway, sorry for the delay, as have been too unsettled to reply sooner. Will try and post Wednesday.

P.S. Good luck to all "new" and usual others regarding this challenge.

+ 2lbs since 27/5/15. Calories increased last week which I think correlates with health and home problems. However, did do more cycling, gardening and housework. The latter came about due to re-organising the whole home so to avoid "noise disturbance" from new neighbours.

    5lb monthly challenge please fredsnail.

Sorry, dashing in last minute, it's been a mad week.

STS for me this week. :o My body must have gone into shock after last week, lol.

6 hours 20 minutes brisk walking this week :j

I'll try for the 5lb Fred, and I'll be on whatever team needs another player?

Well done Fred! I totally forgot to check in yesterday, although I did weigh myself... -0.6lbs. Any chance you could edit it in? If not I'll count it towards next week.

I'm making VERY slow progress at the moment. I haven't entirely succeeded with my goal of tracking every day for a week, but I've done most of it (albeit a lot of it retrospectively, which is less useful, because then it doesn't affect my behaviour much). What that's shown me is that I'm eating way too much, so I'm surprised I'm losing anything at all. Will keep trying - I make renewed resolutions to do better every week.

I think it makes a massive difference. It's so easy to overestimate how much you're eating, or to forget about snacks, etc (or alcoholic drinks is a big one for me). It is a bit faffy, but it gets easier over time. MFP (MyFitnessPal) allows you to create and save meals, so you only need to work it all out the first time.
