Do men ever grow up?

No i don't think they do.
Do you ever watch "one born every minute" ?, the women are all in pain doing what has to be done, meanwhile the fellas are having a go on the birthing ball or having a quick toke on the gas an air etc, they are all the same0 -
I am going to make a sweeping generalization here which is naughty of me but I don't think there is much development after the age of 14. They may be great husbands wonderful dads caring partners but there is still that adolescent who makes an appearance usually at an inopportune moment but it's part of why we love em.
Nailed it Violetta. The serious blokes don't usually live long enough to have a second childhood.
At 61, I think I'm on my 11th or 12th catapult from the age of 12. I get very attached to things I hold dear.0 -
I hope mine never does. I certainly don't plan to.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0

My mother did that when I was having mine and I did it while waiting for my daughter to pop.. being a birthing partner is one of the most boring things in the world!!

Getting old is necessary.
Growing up is optional.

And still manages to cook and clean like a pro. ^_^0 -
My man is the biggest kid! He was so excited when we got together at the prospect of ganging up with my then 6 yo son...it didn't work, my son shows a lot more maturity when it comes to behaviour. I remember the time when after only a couple of months of seeing each other, my son told him to get off the grass because it was written it wasn't allowed!!
He is working on him and it is started to have an effect gradually, saying that, my man has calmed down a lot, to the deep disappointing of his friends (who of course blame me!).
I like my man being a kid at heart, especially since he is the most responsible person I know when it comes to important things. The only aspect of it that I don't like is the danger associated with it (sports). Thankfully, that's where he has really slow down and he hasn't had an accident/incident for over 2 years now, which is incredible as it used to be every couple of months!0 -
How is he with 'serious' stuff? My OH makes computer games for a living and spends weekends doings sports, to him he has the perfect lifestyle - I'm more 'grown up' and like evenings with friends, lunches out, etc..
Howeverr together we gel perfectly and can have an adult conversation, discuss serious issues and sort out problems together.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

He's a stay at home husband these days which he is quite happy with. He ran a business for many years and nearly worked himself into the ground as a result. The sale of the business last year has allowed him to take some time out and me to pursue some of my own career goals and we are for the time being financially secure. He has been able to take pay more attention to his hobbies and has been more social as a result so he's not starved of adult company. He has more energy for me and our kids and I do feel like I now have my husband back after years of him being totally absorbed by work.
So why is it that he's regressed to behaving like a 12 year old? It's nearly impossible to have a conversation with him these days without him resorting to smut and innuendo. He can make the most innocuous comment or question sound dirty and end up snorting to himself like some spotty oik in the playground. Its getting the point when I almost dread having to talk to him. So what's with the Finbarr Saunders act? Is it just excessive energy or what? The only saving grace is that he doesn't do it in front of anyone else, he reserves all the charmlessness for my ears only.
No we don't. I still feel exactly the same inside as I did when I was 10 years old. Nob and fart gags get funnier with each day. I am off to climb some trees and try to look down girls tops!0
