I'd recommend that you sign up sooner rather than later, and then when you do start posting you'll already have been a member for several weeks :)

Yes, there are lots of products in the "catalogue" with no reviews yet.

Will they not lock my account or something if I'm not active for those first few weeks? I really can't see me having time to write anything half decent until the beginning of June, and I don't want to write anything that isn't good quality.

No my account was signed up in Jan 2012 but I only just used it 3 days ago.

Why not "rate" some other peoples reviews and get "known"

OK, I'm signed up. What are people's user names so I can read and rate your reviews? Mine is cc2sg. The avatar is slightly different but still recognisable I think.

Is there any benefit to being the first to review something? My main area of expertise is sportswear, sports gadgets and sports nutrition and I'm finding that there are no reviews of many of the items I thought I might review in future.

    The response from Dooyoo:

    "Dear XanderSi,

    thank you for your e-mail.

PCSpecialist does have a great number of positive reviews, however we believe that the reviews are genuine. We really appreciate you taking the time to get in touch about this as it is something we take very seriously on the site.

We look forward to seeing you around dooyoo!

    Best regards,

    Your dooyooTeam"

I'm sorry but PC World have 27 reviews and a company I've never heard of have over 933. They really think they're genuine?

Well that's the first and last time I bother to mention anything to them. There probably not bothered because from their point of view it's just more content for their website.

I'll just stick to writing and rating reviews.

PC Specialists (or w/e the name is, sorry) let people have a percentage off their products if the customer signs up and writes a 'good' review of the site. Ignore them. They will not rate you back.
