    Hi,

Having had a look I think I will join Dooyoo, any tips?

My suggestion would be to read through this thread (I know it is quite long now but lots of useful tips that might get forgotten if people start to repeat themselves).

If this was my thread originally I would have amended the first post to give some advice there but it isn't unfortunately.

Well, browsed through this thread and joined Dooyoo today. Already have my first 21 points. So thats a start for my first £10.00 a day challenge!

If you want to share your username I could have a look at the two reviews and send you a private message on site with some advice? x

Great advice by KK, as per usual :)

Just wanted to add about the whole rating system, it's very much a case of you have to do the work to get the reward, which I think is more than fair. Just like KK said, I have come across some great items via dooyoo through interesting reviews.

It's a good site and offers a change of pace to earn money when comparing it to survey sites and swagbucks :)
  • Just checked to find that the two reviews I wrote this week have both received crowns! Thrilled and can't wait to try and get more. Those two reviews have made me over £6!

If your ratings came from people looking for specific reviews you would struggle to make as much money as you do, or people like myself. Some of my reviews may only be looked at by ten people who are not members of Dooyoo, yet I still get paid.

I am happy returning rates, even though it takes me much longer than writing reviews, because I enjoy learning about new products, although that is not for everyone.

Another way to look at it is that if you didn't have to read and rate as many reviews, you would earn more money, because the reading and rating is the time consuming part. Writing more reviews would be more profitable.

The reward is tiny, though, in comparison to the effort. For a level 1 review you can earn maybe 60p per half hour, a rate which would be illegal if this was classed as employment. For returning rates, it takes me 2-3 hours to return around 40, which is equivalent to maybe another 60p.

I'm not trying to be disagreeable here, I'm just working out that Dooyoo is not really for me, as it seems to me that the site model relies on us being a captive audience for ads, and reviews are very rarely read by anyone who isn't doing it to earn rewards.

This is not classed as employment, the same as surveys are not, although that depends on what people believe from HMRC! I can write a review in much less than half hour... 1000+ words too. Just depends how quick you can type! I can type in excess of 100 words per minute and I have voice recognition typing software also.

Sorry to hear that Dooyoo is not for you, I am a firm believer that you have to enjoy the writing and community side of it hugely to continue doing it. Surveys might work for you as you can do them alongside one another with much less concentration than you could some other things. For example I can write a review alongside a survey but cannot read one of course as I would not physically be able to read a review AND answer questions at the same time. I am an old member that carried over from the days when reviews on everything, even 10p food items, earned 50p + ratings, there were more rating members (in my opinion at least and according to the statistics available on the site - which are limited) so I guess I am just someone who has liked Dooyoo for a long time.

At one point I did try 'milking the cash cow' and it was quite prolific but these days I have other websites that help me earn. One that I have found recently is Neobux where you can complete sometimes menial tasks for reward and I have found that with the right tasks I can make a few hundred a month with ease.

I hope you either enjoy writing on Dooyoo just for leisure/to help consumers (there is a little statistic available on your reviews to tell you how many non-members have read them) or you find something that allows you to put your writing to good use for more money. There are sites out there :)

Dooyoo has always been very kind to me and with almost 2000 reviews under my belt I have made quite a nice chunk of change for something that I enjoy :)

It is worth pointing out that due to health reasons I am at home all of the time, I do not work anymore and don't know when I will go back to work. I do not claim benefits or get any help, as my husband works a comfortable job with a nice wage, so Dooyoo and other sites allow me to earn some money for extras in my life (mainly things I read about on Dooyoo and these other websites and treats for my husband/family) while keeping myself occupied when my husband is at work and my friends are busy. That is why I am there sometimes and then not for days again, obviously not all people are in my position where they don't need to work or can't work and so I really enjoy Dooyoo.

This suits me but it doesn't suit everyone, the same as Dooyoo won't :) I do not assume that people are foolhardy, or anything else at all, for not wanting to 'do' Dooyoo for the time involved. When you look at it hourly or daily the money is small but if you are looking for a change of scenery in terms of 'money making' websites then I feel Dooyoo is a great website.

I thoroughly enjoy Dooyoo, reading reviews, rating others, offering tips when asked (usually I don't offer them willy nilly as I feel it can be off putting to new people) and if it isn't to someone's taste then I fully understand, but it is a shame as I like to help build the community where I can :)
